A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Labuan Family ๐
As the excitement of Pearl of Borneo Marathon 2026 settles, we would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to the people who made our Labuan trip extra special.
First and foremost, a huge thank you to Poh Swee Tin and wife, Marilyn Kouju for opening not only your home but also your hearts to the Mundukian family.
From RPC pickups, comfortable beds, delicious meals, race preparations and post-race recovery, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Your hospitality made us feel at home throughout our stay in Labuan.
We were especially grateful for the opportunity to experience the GenQi BES Massage Device for pre-race muscle preparation, the GenQi Hydrogen Inhaler which helped us relax and enjoy better sleep, as well as Elcafรฉ with Ginseng & Moringa that kept us energized for race morning. It was a unique experience that many of us thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated.
A special thank you also goes to YueYa Dearly for delivering breakfast in the early morning. While many were still waking up and preparing for race day, your kindness and thoughtfulness ensured that we started the day well-fed and ready for the challenge ahead. Small gestures like these mean so much to travelling runners.
And of course, thank you to Jason Jukip, who despite being busy as part of the event crew, still found the time to join us, spend the night and share moments of laughter and friendship. Your presence reminded us that running events are not only about races and results but also about the people and bonds we build along the way.
What we experienced in Labuan was more than accommodation and meals. It was friendship, generosity, care and the true spirit of community.
The medals we brought home are precious but the memories created around the dining table, the conversations before bedtime, the race morning excitement and the laughter shared together are the moments we will cherish the most.
Thank you, Poh, wife, Yueya, and Chon for making Labuan feel like a second home for the Mundukian family.
We arrived as guests but left feeling like family. ๐
May your kindness be returned many times over and we look forward to creating more wonderful memories together in the future.
With gratitude,
๐ The Mundukian Family
