A huge congratulations to Sophie on completing her GUE Open Water Diver course with Ivo!

Fresh out of her undergraduate degree in Marine Biology, Sophie decided it was time to take her knowledge beyond the classroom and experience the underwater world firsthand.

As if the timing couldn’t have been better, one of her very first dives rewarded her with no fewer than eight green sea turtles, followed by a surprise encounter with a nurse shark. Not a bad way to start your diving journey! 😉

It has been a real pleasure watching such a dedicated, curious, and passionate new diver develop throughout the course. We can’t wait to see where her love for the ocean takes her next.

Congratulations to Moana and Lian for completing their Sidemount and Cavern training with Abi over the last few weeks. Building foundational skills helped them to feel confident and composed in the overhead environment.

Moana then went one step further to complete Intro to Cave. Learning to swim with purpose meant we could venture further into the caves. Thanks to Ivo for stepping in as a team mate over the last few days.

We had a lot of fun, and even learnt a small amount of mandarin along the way.

Congratulations to Martin, Helene, and Aiar on completing their Fathom MK5 CCR Diver course with Gio.

Martin and Aiar joined the course as experienced CCR divers, completing the crossover to the Fathom MK5 and becoming familiar with the system's features, procedures, and operation.

For Helene, this was her very first CCR course. Learning to dive a rebreather from the ground up is a big step, and she did a great job throughout the training.

It was a pleasure being your instructor and working with all three of you. Wishing you many safe and enjoyable dives on the MK5. See you underwater!

Six weeks. Dozens of dives. Countless conversations, laughs, and memories.

Every summer, I look forward to spending time in the Midwest, helping to grow the Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) community, reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones who share the same passion for exploration, learning, and the underwater world. This year was no exception.

From quarries and lakes to long days underwater and evenings spent catching up over good food, it was another reminder that diving is about so much more than the places we visit. It's about the people we meet along the way.

A special thank you to everyone from Midwest Underwater Explorers (MWUE) for your hospitality, enthusiasm, and for making me feel at home every time I visit. It's always inspiring to dive alongside such a welcoming and passionate community.

Now it's time to head back to Mexico, where a new season of cave diving, exploration, and adventures awaits at my beloved home, Third Dimension Diving.

Congratulations to Marcus "D-Dog" Doshi on successfully completing his CCR Cave Diver course on the Fathom MK5 with Giovanni.

Marcus put in the work throughout the course, showing solid skills, good judgment, and a great attitude. It was a pleasure to help him take this next step as a cave CCR diver.

A big thank you to Heather for assisting throughout the course as Marcus's teammate. Having a dependable teammate is an important part of CCR cave diving, and she did a great job.

Well done, D-Dog. Looking forward to seeing where your diving takes you next.
