In this photo, Lionel Messi already had 6 Ballons d'Or, 6 Golden Boots, and was the all-time top scorer and the player with the most matches in Barcelona's history. 🐐🇦🇷

He could have asked any club employee to clean his boots for him. But he chose to do it himself.

Because to reach the top, it's not enough to just have talent: you also have to keep the humility, the essence, and the love for football from its roots.

LEO IS A GIANT ON AND OFF THE FIELD. 🙌❤️

Pedri: "I’ve always had a soft spot for the Argentina national team because of Leo Messi.

"I’ve supported Messi since I was a kid, and whenever Spain got knocked out of a tournament, I would start supporting Argentina because of him.”

• Do you support any club in Argentina?

Pedri: “Yes, Newell’s Old Boys, because of Leo.”

🚨 Pedri: "When I arrived at Barcelona, I was 17 years old. I would watch Messi, his first touch, the way he played with the ball. In the time it takes another player to make three touches, he makes seven."

"You could see Messi being marked by two players during a match, and you would still give him the ball."

"We got along really well and understood each other on the pitch. Playing with him was so easy. You just had to give him the ball and watch what he did."

❤️🥹 “HE TURNED THE EXTRAORDINARY INTO SOMETHING EVERYDAY!”

Leonor, Princess of Asturias, dedicated some moving words to Lionel Messi 🇦🇷, highlighting his ability to unite the entire world through football and turn the impossible into something habitual.

🗣️ “I don’t know if there’s another phenomenon capable of awakening this collective feeling around the world. A single moment, a goal that everyone awaits, that condenses everything within it.

And that’s why it makes sense that today we put the spotlight on Messi and his unparalleled career.

He embodies the ideal image of the Argentine footballer. He has made the extraordinary seem everyday, thanks to his ability to read the game and make the optimal decision in fractions of a second, while preserving the essence of collective play and placing the team’s interest above any individual consideration.”

🐐❤️ LIONEL MESSI, A PHENOMENON THAT TRANSCENDS BORDERS.

Carles Puyol: "When I got the chance to trial for Barça, I found myself alongside players with incredible technical quality like Xavi Hernández and Mario Rosas."

"I wasn't really the typical profile Barça looked for, but I kept fighting for my opportunity."

🚨🇫🇷 Luis Enrique:

🗣️ “Anyone who thinks Frenkie de Jong is a lesser midfielder than Rodri, Pedri or Vitinha simply doesn’t understand football. 🤯🎯

🗣️ “De Jong is a player every coach would love to have in their team. His technical ability and game progression are out of this world. On top of that, he can break up play like Rodri and control the tempo like Vitinha and Pedri. 🧠🎩

🗣️ “FDJ is a complete midfielder. There aren’t many players like him in the modern game. The last player of his kind and quality retired two years ago, and his name was Toni Kroos. 🐐💎🔵🔴

🇵🇹 JOSÉ MOURINHO: "Ronaldo Nazario arrived at Barcelona one day before the Spanish Super Cup against Atlético de Madrid. During preseason, we'd had an Argentine striker, Pizzi, who had done really well, scoring some goals.

Nobody knew Ronaldo very well back then. What we knew about him was very little, but the coach did know what he was capable of. On match day, he put out his lineup: Figo, Ronaldo, and Stoichkov up front. I said to him: 'Ronaldo? Coach, you can't start Ronaldo—he just arrived, and besides, Pizzi did really well in preseason.'

He turned to me and said: 'Mou, do you want to act like a good guy or do you want to win the Super Cup?' 'I want to win the Super Cup,' I replied. 'Very well, then Ronaldo's going out on the pitch.'

We won 5-2, with 2 goals from Ronaldo in his first game with Barcelona. Incredible."

Samuel Umtiti on the MSN: "They were like aliens, but they got along incredibly well both on and off the pitch."

"If two of them had already scored, you could see that on the third goal they would do everything possible to help the other one score too."

🚨🇬🇧 Paul Scholes:

🗣️ “Rodri is having a season better than his Ballon d’Or-winning campaign at Manchester City, yet he’s going unnoticed. And honestly, that’s how it should be for a world-class defensive midfielder. 👀

🗣️ “A great defensive midfielder should become almost invisible in a team, controlling its entire spine, dictating the tempo and holding the whole structure together. 🧠⚙️

🗣️ “That’s why Sergio Busquets is regarded as the greatest defensive midfielder of all time. And what Rodri is doing at Barcelona this season is the closest thing I’ve seen to Busquets since he left European football. 🔵🔴✨

🚨 Rodri and Pedri are building something special at Barcelona. 🧠🔵🔴

When Barcelona signed Rodri, people questioned whether he and Pedri could truly complement each other.

Now we’re seeing why this partnership makes sense.

Rodri brings positional discipline, defensive protection, and control from the base of midfield. He gives Pedri more freedom to move forward, find pockets of space, and influence the game in the final third.

Pedri brings the press resistance, vision, and creativity that turn possession into something dangerous.

We’ve seen glimpses of this connection throughout the season, from the Valencia demolition to recent wins over Getafe and Galatasaray.

They don’t need to play the same way to work together. That’s the point.

Rodri gives Barcelona control. Pedri gives that control imagination.

Culers, are we watching the midfield partnership that will define Flick’s Barcelona? 👀🔵🔴
