From the establishment of the sporting body in 1958, Netball has been Jamaica’s most successful team sport on the world stage by placing consistently among the Top 5 in international competition with multiple podium finishes as high as 2nd at the World Youth level, 2nd in World Fast Net, 3rd at the World Netball Championships and the Commonwealth Games and 1st in the Caribbean at the Senior and Ju

nior levels. Off the court, the sporting body has undergone a fundamental change in its organisational structure to refocus our strengths to claim the Number 1 world ranking at the 2015 Netball World Cup. A multifaceted strategic plan is now in place with rebranding as Netball Jamaica (formerly Jamaica Netball Association) and restructured operations to administer the sport as a business, improve our brand visibility and promote participation in the game from the grassroots to elite levels.

What a journey for our Sunshine Girls! 🇯🇲💛💚🖤

From making history against Australia, to fighting their way back onto the Commonwealth Games podium, Glasgow 2026 gave us so many moments to be proud of. The Sunshine Girls’ thrilling 46-45 semi-final victory over defending champions Australia ended Australia’s run of appearing in every Commonwealth Games netball final since 1998.

And they didn’t stop there, Jamaica went on to claim silver for the second consecutive Commonwealth Games, another incredible achievement for Jamaican netball. 🥈🇯🇲

From Birmingham to Glasgow, the Sunshine Girls continue to show the world the strength, heart and determination of Jamaica. We couldn’t be prouder. 💛

Glasgow 2026 was not just a tournament. It was a journey — built on sacrifice, belief, and the generosity of every person and organisation that refused to let these women face the world’s best unprepared.

To every fan who stayed up late, woke up early, shared a post, said a prayer, or simply believed, we felt every single one of you from across that ocean.

From Kingston to Glasgow. From the first whistle to that final buzzer. We did this together.
