Dear All

Well, there goes the 28th edition edition of the combined clubs’ Jersey Regatta. Well done and a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who contributed in any way to the success of the first Butterfield Jersey Regatta.

Some sixty-five boats competed over the three days with nearly all classes well represented and all experiencing great sailing (until the wind died at the programme’s last gasp on Sunday afternoon!).

Hearty congratulations to the many winners especially those whose brilliant sailing won them the ‘Best in Class’ trophies in the face of stiff opposition over Saturday and Sunday. Great work JAX and Genie on winning the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship prizes in Classes 1 & 2Q, respectively. Many thanks to North Sails for supporting the Championship once again.

A heartfelt vote of thanks goes to Butterfield Jersey for their generosity and enthusiasm in this their first year in the sponsor’s seat. It is, indeed, a privilege to have them on board and a delight to know that 2027 will see them in the sponsor’s seat again.

We are very grateful to Ports of Jersey who, through Jersey Marinas, have provided complimentary berthing and unstinting help over the past 28 years. Thanks, on behalf of our dinghy sailors, also go to the Infrastructure and Environment Department and Parking Control for the provision of the temporary boat park at the RCIYC.

Next year? A provisional date for your diaries ... the Butterfield Jersey Regatta, the 29th edition, is slated for Friday 24th to Sunday 26th September 2027.

Thank you, once again, for supporting the combined clubs’ Butterfield Jersey Regatta.
