The Boston Three Party ☘️
The 2007-08 Boston Celtics assembled Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen on the same roster for the first time and finished the regular season 66-16, the best record in the NBA and a 42-game improvement from the prior season.
Boston defeated the Los Angeles Lakers four games to two in the NBA Finals, with Paul Pierce earning Finals MVP honors. Garnett averaged 18.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists during the regular season in his first year as a Celtic after being acquired from Minnesota in a blockbuster trade the prior summer.
The trio represented three different eras of NBA stardom converging on the same team — Pierce a franchise cornerstone, Garnett a former league MVP, and Allen the all-time leader in three-pointers made. The 2008 title ended a 22-year championship drought for the franchise.
