Diego "Dipi" Kvitko, born in Buenos Aires in 1975, is one of Argentina's most active and recognised guitarists, composers and arrangers in contemporary tango.
A graduate of and now a professor at the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda, he studied under tango guitar master Aníbal Arias — member of the legendary Aníbal Troilo Quartet — for over a decade, developing a deep connection to the oral tradition of Buenos Aires tango guitar. His collaborative work spans tango, folk and contemporary music, with artists including Leopoldo Federico, Jorge Vidal, Sandra Luna, Walter "Chino" Laborde, Hugo Rivas, among many others.
His discography spans more than twenty-five recordings across solo, duo, trio and ensemble formats. In 2020 he released his first solo album, Que Grrrande vol. 1, followed by vol. 2 in 2024.

As someone who has work a lot(not only) as an accompaniment guitarist in tango, maestro Diego Dipi Kvitko has a unique way of creating gentle yet irresistible impulses directly in your body. This logic is different from any other genre or ways of playing.

He is holding the field for the dancers. what a privilege to experience this.

I always tried to tell the students, techniques apart, please don't try to dance the tango you imagined, don't dance the tango that you have in your mind, instead, try to let the music enter you, mingle with your system, find the little impulses that is generated inside that want to come out, that become your dance.

Diego Dipi Kvitko made this extremely easy for everyone. he is moving stones in the room with his noninvasive yet powerful musical waves.

and Alejandro and Marisol Morales are just manifestations of tango bodies. Watching them surfing this wave was pure inspiration for all of us.

The craziest thing I've ever seen!
Improvising in three is impossible enough, and in such a seamless way!

This clip will be buried among all the noises of our epoca of mediocrity but it is going to remain in history till some tanghero/a in the future who would dig it out and say 'WTF??!!! who are these guys?!!!'

There is only one Larenas in this world, only one Marisol, and only one Dipi. Thank you guys for existing.

Do you see how maestro Dipi was closely watching the dancing couple and playing? They inspired and supported one another. this is sooooo touching.

Thank you Debora Giusti for sharing your organisation and made a milonga and performance like this possible. And thank you Carlo Carcano for creating such a warm and sweet night, also for preparing a warm stage for the artists.

I will never forget this night.

How much one can share in one afternoon?

Tango rewards people who inquire, research, go deep and are willing to share. The rewards are not always there, obviously, but when they have the chance to meet people like Alejandro, Marisol, and Dipi, who have so much tango in them and know and want to give, magic happens. I think each one of us left with our hearts full.

Only together we can make tango happen. Thank you maestros, thank you friends, for making a magic day like this possible.
