After a long wait of 24 years, the construction work on the Yemberzalwari road has finally started today, bringing immense joy and relief to the local population.
It is pertinent to mention here that the construction of this road was initially started back in the year 2002. However, since then no major developmental work was taken up, leaving the project in shambles and limbo. As a result, locals as well as visitors who frequently visit Yemberzalwari faced immense hardships during their visit.
During this long period of 24 years, public representatives and locals approached the administration, politicians and all concerned departments and quarters ,time and again, but no tangible result was seen on the ground .
Today, by the grace of Almighty Allah, the construction work under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has officially started, marking the end of a 24-year-long struggle and sufferings as faced by the local people.
The development and blacktopping of this road will prove to be a game-changer for Yemberzalwari as it will make this beautiful area easily accessible to the people of North Kashmir and adjacent areas paving the way forward for it to emerge as a major tourist destination in Sopore.
Being a beautiful hill station, blessed with serene and lush green meadows like Hill Top, Kowut and several other scenic spots in its vicinity, Yemberzalwari has all the potential to become North Kashmir's top tourist destination in the near future. The road connectivity will be the first major step towards that dream.
Locals have expressed their gratitude and happiness to the concerned department and administration for finally starting the work.
