Some nice fishing in the month of June. Brian Dunleavy landing some super Po***ck off the rocks and a first ever Sea Bass for James Mc Loughlin…well done lads!

We also had our first boat trip of the year at the weekend with Ewings Sea Angling and Boat Charters. Daryl kept us on the fish all day despite the swell and blustery conditions. Plenty of nice po***ck around to 77cm as well as Mackerel, Coalie and a lovely red Cod.

Big well done to young Niall on his first ever day of boat angling. He really put the rest of us to shame catching over 50 fish by himself…safe to say he’s hooked! 🎣

Few pictures from last weeks shore fishing event. With fine weather and near flat conditions expectations were not super high but we still managed to land a few fish including a fine sea trout for Brian Dunleavy on the lure rod. Big thanks to club member Kevin Barber for giving us some helpful hints and tips on shore fishing using bait ☀️🌊🎣

Few nice fish got from shore marks for club members this past week. Michael Conway with a mixed bag including Pollack, Ling, Ballan Wrasse and Sea Trout. Karl Dolan also with a fine 43cm Sea Trout. Well done lads 🎣

After a number of cancellations due to the not so nice summer weather so far, we finally got out for our first trip of the season with Ewings Sea Angling and Boat Charters. This evening trip saw club members target pollack on light gear. A blustery but enjoyable evening of fishing 🎣🐟🙌

With Tuna season back upon us take a look at this absolute beast! The biggest Tuna caught on a rod and reel just shy of 1500lbs 💪🐟

The largest Tuna ever caught by a recreational angler on a rod and reel is this beast from back in 1979! Caught by Ken Fraser off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.
That fish weighed in at an astounding 1,496 pounds! To this day, no recreational fisherman has ever come close to matching this world record bluefin tuna catch!
