Energy Plus School of Dance, established in 1983 and based in Mullingar since 1989. Energy Plus is a member of the Associated Board of Dance (A.B.D). Subjects taught are Ballet, Tap, Disco, Modern, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop also vocal and piano tuition. Children are taught from the age of three and a half years and are trained for examination, competition, demonstration and show work. Principal, An
ne-Marie Bentick, began dancing at 4 years of age, at Pattisons College, Coventry, England. She studied Ballet, Tap, Modern, National, Greek, Latin American, Ballroom, Disco and Speech and Drama. She continued her studies at Hazel Hathaway Dance Studio, Broadway Dance Centre and Shirley Thompson Dance Academy. Anne-Marie began teaching for Hazel Hathaway and established Energy Plus in 1983. She was principal dancer and choreographer for the professional cabaret troupe 'Energy', and choreographed for the 'Great and Small' theatre group before moving to Mullingar in 1989. Since opening Energy Plus in Mullingar, Anne-Marie has taught many, many children, held examinations every year and produced,choreographed and directed over 20 productions of 'Dancing Feet', Energy Plus's annual dance show, along with many musical for her pupils. All pupils study grade work. This is a very important part of the training provided at Energy Plus, but most importantly, students are given the chance to gain confidence and enjoy performing on stage.
