"New sponsor alert! 👓

We’ve officially teamed up with The Vision Clinic as a Gold Sponsor, and we couldn't be more grateful for their incredible support of the club. New gear on the store now.

Hopefully, this means our openers will finally start seeing that red thing coming towards them, and our umpires will run out of excuses for those "blind" LBW decisions! Now there’s officially nowhere to hide when you miss a straight one. 🏏"

1st XI: A Tough Day at Castlelands
MCU Division 3 | 10 May 2026

It was a tough afternoon for the 1st XI at Castlelands as we failed to capitalise on a solid bowling performance. After County Kerry won the toss and elected to bat, our boys did a fantastic job keeping them within reach. Michael T (2/43), Sarath (2/18), and Jayamohan (2/26) bowled beautifully to restrict them to 180, wrapping up their innings in the 34th over.

Unfortunately, our chase never got out of first gear. Aside from a resilient 37 from Jomy, our batting lineup completely crumbled under pressure from Kerry’s Luqman Kabir, who tore through us with a devastating 5 for 14. We were bundled out for just 90 runs in under 20 overs, a disappointing result at home, leaving us with plenty of lessons to take into the nets.

2nd XI: Outmuscled by Midleton
MCU Division 4 | 9 May 2026

Our 2nd XI put up a spirited fight at home but ultimately fell short against a disciplined Midleton side. After letting Midleton bat first, our bowling attack showed great grit to bowl them out for 182. Jayakrishnan was the pick of our bowlers, turning in excellent figures of 3 for 34, while Milind, Ansar, and Jon chipped in with two wickets apiece to keep the target manageable.

Chasing 183, we just couldn't forge the big partnerships needed to anchor the innings. Guna (20), Atul (19), and Ansar (19) all got starts and showed intent, but Midleton's bowlers kept hitting their marks. We were eventually dismissed for 111 in the 36th over. It wasn't our day, but the fight from the lower order gives us something to build on.

1st XI: The Perfect Response at Carriganore
MCU Division 3 | 16 May 2026

What a way to bounce back! After the disappointment of the previous weekend, the 1st XI traveled to Carriganore and put on a clinical, dominant performance against Waterford & District. Batting first, we built a formidable total of 227 for 9. Vivek laid a brilliant foundation with a gritty 33, setting the stage for a spectacular, aggressive 59 from Aadhvin Veera. To top it off, Sharon provided the perfect late-innings fireworks, blasting an unbeaten 21 off just 9 balls.

Defending 227, our bowlers took regular wickets to derail the chase. Jayamohan (2/23) and Aadhvin (2/16) bowled well through the middle overs, while Sharon capped off a brilliant all-round day with 2 for 45. We bowled them out for 136 in the 28th over to secure an emphatic 91-run victory, a massive statement from the lads!

🏏Munster Women in action this weekend!

Munster Women’s XI to take the field at Lismore in the first-ever representative fixture against a select GS Cricket Women’s team on Saturday 16th May. This historic match is helping to blaze a trail for Munster Women to represent the province in future InterPro tournaments.

Aideen Sullivan, Chair of the Munster Women's Committee: "This is an exciting opportunity for women playing cricket in clubs across Munster to come together and represent their province as one team.

It is an important milestone in the continued growth and development of female cricket in Munster, made possible through the dedication of volunteers across the province who have worked with Munster Cricket Union to advance the sport for women and girls.

It also creates a clear pathway for young girls playing in our clubs to aspire to provincial representation and higher levels of the game."

Jeremy Bray, Pathway Manager said “These are exciting times for the province as our first ever Munster Cricket women's match vs a GS Sports XI- a combined team from clubs in the south East of Leinster. This will be the curtain- raiser for a series of matches we have planned for the season.”

A Historic Milestone: Lismore CC Women’s Competitive Debut 🏏✨

Today was about much more than the scoreboard at The Mardyke. For the first time in our club’s history, the Lismore CC Women’s XI took the field for a match in the Women's Super League, a huge moment for everyone involved.

While a clinical Cork County CC side took the win on the day, the result felt secondary to the spirit of the game. It was a fantastic afternoon of cricket played with genuine sportsmanship and plenty of laughs, providing our squad with their first real taste of competition.

A massive thank you to Cork County Cricket Club for being such welcoming hosts and for a match played in the right spirit. We’re just getting started, and the focus is firmly on the fun, the growth, and the next game!

Thanks again to our sponsor https://www.wildoatssoap.com/

The Lismore CC 1st XI secured two further wins in MCU Division 3 recently.

In the away fixture against at Ballycasey, Lismore batted first and reached 262/9 in their 40 overs. Sarath led the scoring with 69, while Guna contributed 40. The bowlers then dismissed Clare CC for 92 to complete a 170-run victory.

In a tighter, lower-scoring match at Croker’s Oval, the team set a target of 145 after being bowled out for 144. Jomy top-scored with 33, supported by Vivek with 27. Despite the modest total, the bowling unit remained effective, dismissing the for 110 in the 22nd over. Jayamohan led the attack with three wickets to help secure the 34-run win and maintain the team's momentum in the division.

Meanwhile the 2XI match vs MidletonCC was abandoned after just 5 over of play, as as one member put it when the rain hit "You could float rubber ducks in the puddles on the wicket"
