A dark cloud has fallen over the Killygarry Club since we learned of the sad passing of our clubman and coach, Fergal Brides.
Fergal was an ever-present face at Killygarry games, always there supporting his sons, Cormac and Cian and his daughter Dearbhla. He was never shy in sharing his football opinions, and his passion for the game and for our club was clear for all to see.
Fergal was always willing to volunteer, regularly taking on umpire and linesman duties, and he was a valued member of the 2026 Minor Team management, where he coached his two sons.
Fergal represented the club at every level, from underage through to senior, and enjoyed success with the club, winning underage titles at U12 and U14.
Fergal will be deeply missed by everyone at Killygarry.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his daughter Dearbhla, sons Cormac and Cian, his parents Michael and Eileen, brothers, Garry (Annetta), Micheál and Finian, sister, Aideen (Vinny), his uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, Pauline, all his extended family and his many, many friends at this incredibly difficult time.
