Race Report - Rnd 5 USBK Championship, Kirkistown Saturday 20th June 2026

With this being our third consecutive race meeting, Team Cahoon arrived early at Kirkistown to set up and have both machines scrutineered. The forecast promised dry conditions with sunny intervals — ideal for a full day of racing.

**Qualifying**

**Supersport Cup / Supersport Pro – CBR600RR**

Ciara carried her strong form into qualifying, continuing to improve her pace and confidence on the CBR600RR. She posted an excellent 1:01.899, securing P10 in the Supersport Cup.
This impressive time earned her a promotion into the Supersport Pro class for the first time, where she would start from P22 on the grid — a significant milestone in her progression.

**Moto3 – Honda (Bryan Harding)**

Switching to Bryan Harding’s Moto3 Honda, Ciara immediately found her rhythm, delivering a sharp performance to take P2 with a 1:05.74.

**Racing**

With Ciara now competing in Supersport Pro, the team faced the added challenge of back‑to‑back Moto3 and Supersport Pro races, requiring both bikes to be prepared and brought to pitlane simultaneously — a demanding logistical task handled seamlessly by the team.

**Moto3**

**Race 1:**
Ciara made an excellent start, settling into P3 and engaging in a thrilling battle with Alfie Flynn for second place. The pair crossed the line nose‑to‑tail, with Ciara dipping into the 1:04s, marking another step forward in her pace.

**Race 2:**
Another strong launch saw her maintain P3 throughout the 10‑lap race, running consistent 1:05s.
Overall Result: 3rd in Moto3 — a well‑deserved podium finish.

**Supersport Pro**

Entering the Pro class for the first time meant lining up alongside faster, more experienced riders, but Ciara rose to the challenge with maturity and determination.

**Race 1:**
Ciara put her head down, improved her lap times throughout, and battled closely with two riders over the 10 laps. She finished P17, recording consistent 1:01s.

**Race 2:**
A clean start led to a more settled but solitary race, with Ciara bringing the bike home in P16, once again maintaining 1:01 lap times.

**A Remarkable Effort**

Completing two 10‑lap races back‑to‑back on two very different machines is a significant physical and mental challenge. Huge credit goes to Paul Ward, Ciara’s personal fitness coach, whose dedication and training programme have clearly strengthened her endurance and performance. Ciara remained sharp and competitive right to the final lap of the day.

**Acknowledgements**

Team Cahoon would like to extend sincere thanks to the MCRRCI for a well‑organised meeting, and to all Officials, Marshals (road & flag), and the Medical Team for their continued professionalism and support.

Race Preview - USBK Rnd 5 Kirkistown
Saturday 20th June

This Saturday Team Cahoon are back at it again for the third weekend in a row. Back to the Ulster Superbike Championship at Kirkistown for Rnd 5 which is being run by the Motorcycle Road Racing Club of Ireland. Ciara will as usual be riding in Moto3 on Bryan Harding's Honda. Ciara has been having some great battles this season with Matt Davidson and lets hope Saturday will bring some more exciting racing. Ciara will also ride her own Honda CBR600RR in the Supersport Cup class and after Aintree she is bang on form for improving her times and again show the boys a clean pair of heals.

We will as always have our merchandise for sale, as well as Ciara's Supporter's Club.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday
