If you’re a beginner cyclist or looking to meander through the Slieve Bloom by bike at a more relaxed pace, there are plenty of flat-surfaced forest roads, which will ensure you take in many of the scenic highlights.

One such highlight is The Cut at an elevation of 430 metres in the Slieve Bloom and located on the mountain road between Mountrath and Clonaslee.

The Cut is an ideal area to park up and have a picnic, and offers an incredible viewpoint, overlooking the valley of Glendineoregan and across Offaly.
