🏉 U18s PRE-SEASON | CORK CONSTITUTION 22–31 ASHBOURNE 🟡⚫

Ashbourne U18s travelled to Cork this weekend for a pre-season friendly against a very strong Cork Constitution side — and what a game of rugby it was!

Played directly after the headline Cork Con v Shannon Munster Senior Cup quarter-final, the match was played at a high level and a fast pace from the opening whistle.

Ashbourne came flying out of the blocks, playing some fantastic open rugby with real flair and determination, opening the scoring with a superbly worked team try.

Cork Con responded strongly and put the Ashbourne line under sustained pressure for a good seven-minute spell. The lads showed tremendous grit and determination in defence, eventually forcing the turnover, relieving the pressure and turning defence into attack — ultimately leading to another fantastic Ashbourne score.

Both sides continued to trade blows throughout the second period, with the entire Ashbourne squad getting plenty of valuable game time without any drop in the standards set from the start.
