🥋 NEW FOR SEPTEMBER

September might feel a while away but now is the time to start planning.

We’re launching a six-week beginners course for adults starting completely from scratch.

Everyone begins together on the same Monday, so you won’t be walking into a class full of people who already know what they’re doing.

You’ll train with the same group each week and have the basics down by the end of the course.

We’re taking pre-registrations now. Everyone on the list will get first access before the course opens publicly.

Deep Half Guard was the focus in Fundamentals tonight. A great position for learning how to stay calm under pressure, get underneath your opponent and start attacking from the bottom.

If you’ve ever wanted to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but felt intimidated, we’ve got something new starting this September.

Our new Beginners Course starts on Monday 7th September at 7:00pm.

This class is strictly for beginners, so everyone will be starting together. No experience needed, no pressure and no expectation that you’ll know anything before you arrive.

If you’ve been thinking about giving BJJ a go, this is the perfect place to start.

We had our juniors on the mats tonight at 6pm and some of them picked up some well deserved stripes 👏🥋

At 7pm our adults No-Gi Fundamentals class continued working on escaping mount into single leg X 💪

A long day at the Irish Open finished with 13 adult competitors representing Peak Jiu Jitsu Ashbourne and a lot to be proud of, followed by some well deserved celebrations afterwards in Swan’s b**r garden.

The team showed up ready to go from the first match of the morning right through to the final rounds of the day. Some brilliant performances and a lot of composure under pressure.

Results:

🥇 3 Gold
🥈 5 Silver
🥉 2 Bronze

This is only the second year Peak has entered a team into the Irish Open which makes the performances even more satisfying.

We’re also not a competition focused club and nobody here is ever pressured or expected to compete. We treat people like adults. Some members compete regularly while others train for fitness confidence self defence or simply because they enjoy the atmosphere and community in the club.

That’s why days like yesterday are special. A group of ordinary people deciding to put themselves out there support each other and test themselves at the biggest tournament in the country.

Not everybody came home with a medal but everybody represented the club properly and contributed to the team effort. Proud of everyone who stepped onto the mat 💪🏻🥋

Our Little Peakers aged 4 to 6 had great fun today and earned their very first stripes on their belts, with their mammys and daddys watching on. We are so proud of them! 🥋👏

Classes run every Saturday at 10:30am and 11:15am. They learn through fun and games and absolutely love coming to class!

We are currently waitlisted but spaces open up regularly, so get in touch to add your child’s name.

Our kids programme is usually fully waitlisted but we have released a small number of spots in each age group this February 👀

We put a lot of time and effort into every class to give our Little Peakers the best experience possible. We honestly believe it is the best kids class in Meath 🥋💚

Tonight in our mixed level fundamentals class we worked on back control and getting there is only half the battle.

We focused on keeping strong control once the back is taken and how to defend the footlock if you make the mistake of crossing your feet in front of your opponent.

Fundamentals class runs every Tuesday and Thursday and is suitable for all levels 💪🏻🥋
