Every experienced diver remembers being a beginner.

The truth is that most new divers make the same mistakes. Rushing buddy checks, carrying too much weight, poor buoyancy control, and forgetting to monitor air are all common parts of the learning process.

The good news? They're also some of the easiest mistakes to fix.

We spoke with experienced divers and instructors to identify the beginner habits they still see every day, and what new divers can do to improve faster, dive safer, and enjoy every dive more.
