From the sandy, rocky shoreline where Elegant Cuttlefish and Groupers can be spotted, to the Seagrass Meadows which are abundant in sealife, Souda Beach is such a rewarding dive for macro marine enthusiasts! 🌿🦑
Take a look at the unusual looking Caulerpa prolifera Green Algae growing in the sand, the distinctive, and rarer to find, Black Scorpionfish, and many juvenile fish such as Rivulated Rabbitfish and Dusky Grouper.

Isabelle 🇳🇱 and Joel 🇨🇭 are our latest Instructors, teaching all of the PADI 🌐programs including Speciality Courses with Julia 🇦🇹, Gizem 🇧🇪, and Nora 🇮🇹 joining the Marine Biology department, conducting our range of Marine Biology activities both above, and below the water!

Hide And Seek.
Dive Guide and Marine Biologist, Julia, posseses an unnerving ability for finding the very difficult to spot Broadnosed Pipefish hiding amongst the leaves of the Seagrass Meadows at Souda Beach.
Floating vertically, they blend in with the swaying meadows to avoid predators and a part of the Seahorse family, meaning the males recieve eggs from the females into it's breeding pouch for fertilizing, then 4 weeks later, hatching.
Camouflaged above the sand and dead seagrass leaves, check out the Slender Goby also blending into it's environment.

Organic Vegetables From Plakias.
As many of the Dive2gether crew and guests are taking meat out of their food and have Vegetarian/Vegan diets, we are fortunate to have Bio Πλακιάς - βιολογικα προιοντα Organic Farm to source our vegetables from for our Waterfall lunches and weekly BBQ.
We collect all of our tomatoes, peppers, carrots, cucumbers, and courgettes, all grown organically from the farm's greenhouses just outside Plakias. 🍅🌶️🥒🥕
Bio-Plakias does not use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, plant growth regulators, hormones, or feed additives, ensuring the best quality and tasting vegetables for everyone to enjoy a healthy eating experience with us at our social get-togethers!

Mapping Project.
For their final day of the Bootcamp Navigation Week, Jannick and Malte spent a day at Shinaria Bay to create a dive site map that fellow divers can use to plan and navigate accurately when guiding dives. 🤿👌
Snorkelling in the morning, with slates to draw a birds-eye view of the main features of Shinaria, such as the big rock formations, canyons, sandy areas, and seagrass meadows.
During the afternoon, with Dive2gether Dive Guide Mattia, they dived Shinaria to record the depths and permanent visual references, before they worked together to produce the map itself, which, of course, you can check out in the pics!
A great result lads, and bravo's and slaps on the back all round! 👏💪

Jannick And Malte Searched...Jannick And Malte Recovered.
If working in harmony as diving buddies were an art form, Jannick and Malte are true artists!
This was apparent throughout the Navigation Week, which is more technical and requires tip-top teamwork to achieve success. 🤿👌
Under the expert tutelage of Instructor Joel over the week, Jannick and Malte eased through by putting their Navigation prowess from the specialty course to excellent effect by searching and locating a missing 25kg anchor⚓️ for the Search and Recovery Speciality.
Once located, the anchor is secured to 2 lifting bags utilising the knots learnt in the course, and air is added to the bags to attain neutral buoyancy, ready for the dive back to shore. 👏💪

When photographing Marine Life in the Mediterranean, looking to take advantage of the different shapes, patterns, colours, and textures can turn images into something a little more abstract, rather than resembling a living plant or animal.
Capturing nature with a macro lens or macro setting is crucial for showcasing the detail of the subject.
Shooting from untraditional angles, such as from above rather than below, can give oddly pleasing results that will interest viewers in identifying exactly what they are seeing.
Often, the most common Sealife will reward with weird, wonderful, and colorful shots, sometimes keeping fellow divers guessing as to what you captured.
