KINESISdance We offer regular STREET, CONTEMPORARY, LYRICAL & MUSICAL THEATRE Dance classes from age *4yrs up to Adults* in York.

We also provide Dance in Education (School-based) & private Wedding First Dance Tuition. The Street Dance class involves learning authentic techniques in all areas of Street Dance: Popping, Locking, Hip Hop and Breakdance. Each week we build on skills and work towards a completed routine. The Contemporary Dance class also works on developing techniques and choreography and we aim to work creativel

y and collaboratively towards a completed dance to a variety of music. The NEW Dance Fitness class is suitable for all ages and abilities and comprises of an energetic warm up, followed by a complete dance routine to popular music learnt each week. As each week is different, this class would suit people who cannot commit to attend each week (although you are more than welcome to!)

In addition to dance classes, I also teach bespoke Wedding First Dances, Hen Parties and Special Occasion Dances.

At KINESISdance we believe dance should be for EVERYBODY! Through all our classes, work in schools and education, community projects, and health & wellbeing workshops, it is clear to see the benefits of dance for young people of all ages.
🟣🤸🏻 Today we are focusing on Dance for Boys! We understand that boys who are interested in Dance & Movement need a safe space where they can express themselves, develop their technique and build on their creativity and performance skills! All of our classes are mixed and we support each of our dancers individuality, welcoming anyone who wants to learn with us!
🟣🤸🏻Whether you want to develop strength & flexibility & fly in our creative CONTEMPORARY dance, or learn top rocks, corkscrews, freezes, popping & locking & hip hop in our STREET Dance classes, we are always keen to welcome more boys into our classes! I have worked with students from Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy for a number of years, taking them to perform at dance festivals every year! They are a wonderful group of dancers to work with, always keen to challenge themselves, learn and create new exciting choreography, and absolutely LOVE performance day! 🌟Dance Festivals are such a big part of what we do at KINESISdance - they are the perfect opportunity to work towards something special, take part in a big event along with lots of other dancers, groups & schools, and often give children & young people the opportunity to perform in theatres, stages & outdoor spaces they may have not previously experienced. Here are some wonderful shots from the amazing children at St Patrick's Catholic Primary School in Leeds performing for the very first time at the Everybody Dance Festival last November! It was a magical experience for them & I was so proud of them all 🥰

It's been a bit quiet over here for the last few weeks, but after a nice relaxing Summer break... WE'RE BACK!!! 😍
We can't wait to kick off the new term at KINESISdance and we're going to start by looking back over the last year's achievements, showcasing each of our class groups, and introducing you to our teachers! Look out for a new post EVERY DAY over the next couple of weeks 👀🤩!

Woohoo! 2 weeks of HealthyMe holiday club... DONE ✅️ So many kids, so many activities - everything from football⚽️, rugby🏈basketball🏀, cricket🏏 & rounders⚾️, to dance🕺🏻💃, gymnastics🤸🏻‍♀️, arts & crafts🎨, smoothie making🥤, quizzes and LOADS of team games to keep it competitive (for the staff!😅)
And such an awesome team of people to work with 🫶🏼 The BEST 🌟

Another day, another dance show! This time I spent the day in Leeds helping out at my gorgeous friend Ruth's awesome end of year show with Union of Dance! Fabulous energy, excellent song choices, lovely team of staff and helpers! Loved being part if it... and I got to wear a headset mic 🙌🏼🤩

The second week went in a flash, looked a bit like this...

• New dancers added to our Arts Fest opening dance - they're all looking fab & ready to fly! ✅️
• Endings sorted in our show choreo - amazing effort from everyone in class 😍 ✅️
• Finale rehearsals in Knavesmire, Carr, Woodthorpe & York High - looking good everyone! ✅️
• England match win ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ✅️
• Final rehearsals for Musical Theatre & Acro for the big show - Claire & Janine making sure everyone is performance ready (thanks team🤩) ✅️
• Quick roadside costume swap in Tadcaster with Ruth because... why not 😂 ✅️
• Performing at the very sunny CR Relay For Life on Saturday - thanks to everyone who came, danced, supported & raised money for such a good cause! 🫶🏼 ✅️
• Sleep ❌️
• Chill ❌️
