On Saturday 20th June, the Saxon community will be taking on Big V’s - a memorial workout in honour of one of our most influential members, Vearnon Johnson.
Vearn joined Saxon in 2015 and quickly became a huge part of the gym community. He was larger than life. You always knew when he was in a class - whether it was his laughter, chatting with other members, or shouting encouragement to keep everyone going.
He supported Saxon at competitions and events, always cheering people on from the sidelines and getting involved whenever he could. No matter the challenge, Vearn never let anything stop him from giving everything he had.
Each year around his birthday, we complete this workout created by his wife Sharon and daughter Lisa. The workout includes some of Vearn’s favourite movements - the ones he had a definite love/hate relationship with - alongside reps and distances linked to important dates and moments from his life.
This is an open invitation to anyone who knew Vearn, as well as anyone who wants to take on the challenge and be part of something special.
If you’d like to join us for the workout, please contact us to book in to one of the morning sessions.
And if you can’t make it to Saxon, we’d still love for you to complete the workout wherever you are and tag Saxon CrossFit so we can all take part together in celebrating Vearn’s memory.
