In the old world path to glory campaign Henry's Grand Cathay squared up against Jays dark elves. Here Jay with the battle report.
"As the two armies marched towards one another, the cunning Dark Elves set their first trap. A unit of Dark Riders used their scouting skills to appear on Cathay's flank, threatening a cannon and drawing the attention of the enemy cavalry. Though heavily outnumbered, their mission was never to survive, only to sow confusion.
With the battlefield unfolding, both forces advanced cautiously towards the objectives. Arrows darkened the sky, spells crackled through the air, and cannons thundered across the field. Despite the ferocity of the barrage, casualties remained surprisingly light as both armies weathered the storm.
The Dark Elves seized the initiative by claiming the majority of the objectives, forcing Cathay to advance into their waiting blades.
On the flank, the Cathayan cavalry finally caught and destroyed the Dark Riders. Their sacrifice, however, had already achieved its purpose, delaying a large portion of the enemy force and buying precious time for the rest of the army.
The battle reached its climax when the mighty Terracotta Sentinel crashed ino the Kharibdyss.
The monstrous construct towered over the battlefield, but the beast refused to fall alone. As the struggle raged, the High Beastmaster swooped in atop his Manticore.
Together, beast and monster tore the Sentinel apart, sending the colossal construct crashing to the earth before turning their attention towards the floating Sky Lantern.
Fate then dealt Cathay another cruel blow. One of their cannons catastrophically misfired, exploding in a shower of splintered timber and shattered iron, leaving nothing but smoke where the war machine once stood.
Elsewhere, the Cathayan Lord smashed into the Dark Elf Cold One Chariot, battering it until only a single wound remained. The crew clung on by the narrowest of margins, refusing to abandon the fight.
The Sky Lantern unleashed devastating fire upon the Cold One Knights, leaving only a handful of survivors. Before it could finish them, however, the victorious Kharibdyss and Manticore crashed into the airborne war machine, dealing massive damge but not before it got some angry blows back, severely hurting the many headed beast
Seizing the momentum, the monsters thundered onward into the Cathayan infantry, who had been locked in a brutal stalemate with the Dark Elf Warriors for two turns.
As the dust settled, the battlefield belonged to Naggaroth. Through careful manoeuvring, monstrous strength, and a little fortune on their side, the Dark Elves secured a decisive victory."
