At last night’s session, the boxers got the chance to switch roles.
Instead of just boxing, they stepped into the shoes of coaches, corner teams, and referees. Some led a boxer from the corner, giving advice and encouragement between rounds, while others took on the role of referee and managed the action in the ring.
Learning boxing isn’t just about throwing punches. Understanding what coaches look for, how a referee controls a contest, and what information is useful in the corner helps boxers develop a much deeper understanding of the sport.
The more a boxer understands the sport as a whole, the better equipped they are when they step through the ropes themselves.
