Fab news from Wimborne War on Waste. A new refill station right by the Minster. Stay hydrated, everyone!

We are very excited to let you know that a brand new water refill station has been installed by Dorset Council in Cook Row in Wimborne! 💙

It has been a complicated process and we are really grateful that it has been located in the centre of the town for all to use! This will save loads of plastic water bottles, is free, and promotes the practice of Refill and Reuse! Fantastic!

Thanks to the Wimborne Minster BID for sharing the news in their weekly newsletter. The water fountain is part of the "Bring Your Own" initiative encouraging people to swap out single use water bottles, coffee cups, bags and containers for reusable alternatives.

In case it is any interest to anyone, there is a petition to question the new fines coming in regards to holidays during term time.

This petition should be for many reasons - family abroad, seasonal businesses, work/life/school balance, small family businesses, financial reasons and more.

We need to make a stand and have them fining the travel companies instead!

Families face school fines for taking their children out of school to go on affordable holidays. This can be a particular issue for low-income families, and families with children that have additional needs, who want or need to avoid busier and more expensive periods.
