🏆 LANCASHIRE CUP - ROUND ONE 🏆

Last season we came agonisingly close, narrowly missing out in the Lancashire Cup Final. This year, the aim is simple - get back there and go one step further. 🔴⚫

After already having to reshuffle our pre-season schedule following the delayed start to the league campaign, there’s another change to the calendar.

The Lancashire Cup takes precedence, and this Saturday we travel to Firwood Waterloo for our first competitive fixture of the 2026/27 season.

🏉 PRE-SEASON STARTS THIS SATURDAY

The Wids are back in action this Saturday as we welcome Moortown RUFC to Heath Rd for our first pre-season fixture ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Moortown enjoyed a strong season last year in Regional 2 North East, finishing just outside the play-off places. They’ll provide tough, well-organised opposition and a great first test for the lads as we step up preparations for the new season.

After weeks of hard work on the training pitch, it’s time to get some match minutes in the legs and start putting that work into action. 💪

🚨 PRE-SEASON UPDATE 🏉

Following the RFU announcement that the start of the competitive season has been pushed back until after 21st September, our coaches have been locked in a room, phones in hand, cold-calling just about every rugby club in the North West! 📞

The result? A reworked pre-season schedule designed to keep the lads on track, match-ready and fully prepared for whenever the new season gets underway. 💪

For now, the preparation continues. 👊
