Last weekend was a great day for the gym at HybridX. Everyone smashed it and I’m so proud of you all. While I single someone out now, please don’t think I’m overlooking anyone’s achievements. I just think this really needs mentioning… last night I was looking at Oscars results, he obviously did brilliant but I admit I didn’t quite realise just how well he done. I started comparing his splits to my own for comparison (I’ve put them in the photos, his is first then mine). It’s crazy to think what he could be doing in a year let alone when he’s 18, 21. Incredible work ethic, dedication, desire, attendance, attitude. Everything. You’ll have the usual hurdles coming your way that many boys stumble at- work, pub, girls etc, but if you keep dedicated it’s crazy to think what you could be doing in a few years. It’s only a could, you’ve got to carry on as you are when life gets harder as you get older. Getting to the gym tired after work. Using your last tenner for fuel to get to gym. Saying no to mates heading to pub. Skipping a date for training. All these things as you get older make it much harder than just mum or dad driving you to the gym after an easy 9-3 at school. P.S. mum and dad do a great job getting their boys to me at training many times a week (as do other parents) You’re a boxer first and foremost and too good to take your eye off that but the fitness racing go hand in hand and it also shows in the ring you are always the better engine. When I started comparing stats last night to my own it really impressed me so much! I promise to do a doubles race with you next Hyrox season. I can’t wait to see you in your first men’s Hyrox race. Your running stats are brilliant, you won 3/7 runs. To be saying that in a race Ezra is at is bonkers!
Our little town has plenty of recognised sports people that get a lot of backing and support. Oscar is as good as any of them in his fields. It will probably go ignored because it’s something new and not the regular sports.
So proud of you Oscar.
I truly believe you can go further than me one day and it will make me so proud! 🐝
