🏆 TYCROES RFC HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE – Aled James 🏆
Tycroes RFC are proud to welcome Aled James into the Hall of Fame.
Aled's journey with Tycroes RFC began as a junior Ram, before progressing through the junior ranks in our local area, before returning and establishing himself in the senior side. After two impressive seasons at senior level, he took the opportunity to test himself at a higher level of rugby, joining Carmarthen Quins and spending three seasons competing in the Welsh Premiership.
The experience gained at Premiership level helped shape Aled into the player and leader he would become, but Tycroes was never far from his heart.
Returning to his hometown club as a player-coach, Aled embarked on a remarkable five-year spell that would leave a lasting mark on Tycroes RFC. Leading by example on the field and setting standards off it, he played a huge role in developing the culture, ambition and identity of the squad. His rugby knowledge, commitment and leadership were instrumental in helping the club move forward, culminating in the unforgettable 2024-25 season when he masterminded our league-winning campaign—one of the proudest achievements in the club's history.
However, Aled's contribution cannot be measured by results and silverware alone.
Whether it's coaching, mentoring players, maintaining the club's facilities, securing sponsorship, organising behind the scenes, or simply being the first to volunteer when something needs doing, Aled has always gone above and beyond. Tycroes RFC is more than just a rugby club to him—it's part of who he is.
His passion for the club, his loyalty to its people and his willingness to give back have made him a role model for players of all ages and a respected figure throughout the rugby community.
And his story with Tycroes is far from over.
Aled is now transitioning into the role of Director of Rugby, where he will help support and develop rugby across every section of the club. Alongside this, he will be coaching our youth team, helping to develop the next generation of Rams and ensuring the future of Tycroes RFC remains as strong as ever.
For his outstanding service as a junior player, senior player, Premiership player, player-coach, league-winning leader and tireless clubman, we are honoured to award Aled with a club cap, and honour his service with an induction into the Tycroes RFC Hall of Fame.
