At Reload, we arent just adding more miles. We’re trying to improve three key levers:
1. Aerobic power — build a bigger engine.
2. Threshold — increase the speed you can sustain.
3. Running economy — use less energy to run at a given pace.
That means purposeful training:
🏃 Easy running to build aerobic capacity without unnecessary fatigue.
⚡ Threshold and higher-intensity work to improve sustainable speed and aerobic power.
🏋️ Heavy strength and explosive work to improve force production and running economy.
And the evidence supports it.
Research in endurance runners consistently shows that adding heavy strength, plyometric and combined strength training can improve running economy and performance — without needing to simply add more running volume.
So when we see members hitting PBs, we don’t see it as luck.
Train the engine. Raise the threshold. Improve the economy.
That’s the difference between just running and training to become a better runner.
If you feel like you’re putting the miles in but your running has stopped moving forward — you know where we are.
