Aussie captain Liam Wright joins the Ospreys 🖤

Wright captained the Reds for six seasons and became the 89th player to captain the Wallabies during Wales’ 2024 tour of Australia.

Speaking on signing, Wright said: “I’m excited to get started with this new chapter at the Ospreys. I’ve actually got a bit of Welsh heritage, my grandfather was born in Pembroke, so I know it’s a club with a rich history and passionate supporters."

“I had a chat with Ry (Ryan Smith) when I started to consider the move and he spoke so highly of the place and the boys that are there. This is a great opportunity for me."

Ospreys are delighted to announce that they have signed a new Professional Rugby Agreement (PRA25) with the The Welsh Rugby Union.

The agreement, which runs until the end of the 27/28 season, signals a period of stability for the Region.

A key element of the new agreement is that it provides for greater collaboration with the WRU, including growth of alignment on the playing side in particular.

With work now underway at Ospreys’ new stadium at St. Helen’s, and now the signing of the PRA, the Region is looking forward to continuing its proud history as a key player in Welsh rugby.
