⭐ I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE 👀👀⭐

So 2 years ago, I was very fortunate to be part of the School Games 2024 held at Loughborough University, mostly as a Team Staff in Athletics as part of the Beijing squad (well different teams had different Olympic venues at the time, including Sydney, London, Rio, etc). My responsibility at the time was to support the Para Athletes in our team, including 1 that was a handful! But for me as a coach, it was a different experience to learn and undertake what it's like to be in a National competition setting as a whole - which I have taken this experience elsewhere to apply it with 1 or 2 of my clients who I currently coach that need my help to get them warmed up and ready on the day of competition for a couple of Open Meetings, Southern Champs and some local Norfolk comps here and there. So therefore, it has been useful! 💪

A confession I do want to make is that I had expressed my interests for this year's School Games to go back to once again. Back in June of this year I had to pull out as I was planning at the time for British Masters that is taking place the weekend after, considering a lot of preparation time to taper for 2 weeks out is needed to ensure I can get the training in needed. With the School Games takes a chunk of 3-4 days of volunteering to help out and not enough prep training inbetween meant it wasn't possible to make it happen. Plus I wasn't able to afford in having more time off from work under reduced capacity during Annual Leave, etc to scale it in either. So it meant I missed out for this year's event. Hopefully if I'm not under pressure for next time, I might be able to do it for 2028 🤞

For now, it's 1 week to go until I race at British Masters, let's go!!! And just a couple of photo's as a throwback to the first one I did as a coach to volunteered at the School Games 2024. And good luck to anyone doing the for this year, enjoy the experience while you can ⚡😎

FYI - Most people I get alot asking me about the T-Shirt that if I had attended Loughborough University in the past, I wish! 🤣

⭐ I'M NOW ON ANNUAL LEAVE (WELL, REDUCED WORK CAPACITY!) ⭐

This last few weeks had been busy for Liam very recent as a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to ensure most of the Sub-Contracted work as well as for clients finishing off with their S&C 1:1 Course Sessions to be all up-to-date at this point in time. We can now say as of today, Liam will be having reduced work capacity for his Annual Leave from tomorrow and will be returning to full normality from Wednesday 16th September. As the main reason for the weekend of Mid-September when he'll be competing at the British Masters Athletics Federation Championships in Derby (details to follow for the live results and action will be posted on here at the earliest opportunity).

For the next 2 and a bit weeks, Liam will use his preparation time to ensure he will be ready to compete to the best of his own ability. At the same time, we do have the MOT and Service for the Van that needs to be sorted out on Thursday 3rd September. As well as reduced work capacity that will be in place from Tuesday 1st to 10th September (and 15th as well) with Sub-Contracted as well as Clients for limited availability, and classes in Watton on 2nd and 7th September not to forget! For anyone that is currently having sessions with us, or you are completed but would like to be booked in, please get in touch with Liam to sort out any session(s) to book in with limited dates, times and locations available at the earliest.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding. But during Liam's time off, all emails and phone calls will be answered to on a limited basis.

⭐ SPRINT SPEED CAMP DONE FOR 2026 ⭐

Despite the number of cancellations due to lack of numbers which was beyond our control. We've managed to get the 4 Week group sessions to go ahead for 2026! This also meant it was the first time we used the Brower Timing System Gates for the 30m Flying Sprints for this course (as opposed to the 60m Sprint we normally use for the Freelap). With 8 people already booked (including 2 that were transferred over from Monday's Camp cancellation), we had at least 5-6 people attended as a whole⚡

We somehow managed to make this work for the summer holiday period and could not thank you all enough to have your best efforts in learning the sprint speed skills that will translate to your sports elsewhere in the long run. The only difference with the sprint time improvements was only 1 who managed to do better by 0.04 seconds, so a big shout to Preston who made the slight improvement. And the other goes to Oliver who stood out with the fastest time of the camp overall with 3.37 seconds.

As the group course for the sessions have now finished for this year, you can still register your interests for our Speed Training 1:1 Course to get started at anytime you wish (we may have a waiting list but we'll do our best to get you onboard) - https://forms.gle/eMWJQqr1ov4p64j98

Alternatively, you can check out our Sprint Academy Facebook group where I post on there for general advice, hints and tips, etc to keep you all in the loop (including next year's Sprint Speed Camp for 2027) - https://www.facebook.com/groups/breakingrecordsfitness.sprintsacademy

For now, we have our Prize Draw giveaway to spread the word and promote more of between now and mid-September (as Liam had been busy this Summer 😎). So check out the previous posts and keep your eyes peeled for more further details!

Also a shoutout to for the Christmas Voucher that we've managed to secure new Medicine Balls for group sessions like this 💪

⭐ GCSE RESULTS DAY! ⭐

Well done to those who have received their results on GCSE Day. Hope you got the grades you wanted, but fear not if you don't - it's not the end of the world!

I remember my GCSE's in School almost 20 years ago, due to me having Autism being diagnosed at a young age - I was practically thick as 💩 in school (well clever in some aspects) 🤣

To tell you the truth, I only walked away with a B in Maths, C in Art and a D in both Science (Single Award) and Construction. Never was allowed to do GCSE English as only did entry level which was a piece of 🍰, but I went to 6th Form for a year when I did BTEC 1st Diploma in Sport, I actually did do GCSE English then with a Grade D (which ain't half bad)!

Despite all this (after going through clearing), I did go to university and ended up graduating with a 2:2 in Sports Studies. Obviously long ago, I was practically written off from one teacher in primary school to say I wouldn't make it this far. Well that showed them 🖕

My point is, just because you have more or fewer GCSE's with grades you wanted or not - doesn't mean your life later on will turn out to be great or miserable whatever you're going to do. Just be you 👍

I've turned out to do ok over the years being involved in the sports and fitness industry, and had guidance along the way not to forget which I am forever grateful. You can still turn your live around when you least expect it 💪

Once again, congratulations to all of you 16 year olds on GCSE Result's Day and wishing you the best of life for the future ahead ⚡⚡

⭐ I'VE OFFICIALLY ENTERED THE BRITISH MASTERS! ⭐

A couple of months ago, I did a throwback on when I was previously a National Disability Athlete 20 years ago, winning medal after medal - before moving into mainstream basis changed everything. The last time I did mainstream Athletics at National Level was at BUCS for Southampton Solent University in 2011, both indoors for the 4x200m relay and outdoors for the 200m. I guess I did alright back then and I was grateful to be given the opportunity to represent for the university back then. But for me not being included in the team in 2012 and 2013 was the harsh reality that I wasn't good enough at the level they want me to compete in (including the final year they made up there own standards and a certain vice-captain got in the team despite not achieving the standard already set in the first place, yeah that's pure con and favouritism)!

Away from the negativity, I can confirm that I have now officially entered for the British Masters Athletics Federation Champs (BMAF T&F Champs) - which is 4 weeks from now and this will be go time for me to see what I can do to compete at National Level once more in the Master's 35 Age Group in the 100m and 200m. But will I be doing it to prove all the doubters wrong in my life or just to simply say that I have got what it takes?

Actually, I'm doing this for myself to show up as a small win - that's what really matters! If you didn't know a while back, I was going to throw in the towel and quit Athletics altogether as I wasn't achieving the performances I wanted (as you do) and accepted that some people were right after all that I should walk away from the sport. And that was when I did need to push to my own limits and used on social media to boost my motivation from every training session I did, a small win at a time felt like my performances got better out of me to achieve what I actually wanted. And to this day, I use this name as a fitness business to inspire and motivate others to do the same thing!

Yes, you got to know my story by now. This will be my time to shine!

Oh, and I will post about my Annual Leave shenanigans this week too...
