🧡 BT PROMOTIONS TOURNAMENT at Flamingo Land!

Back home after the most amazing weekend spent with our incredible Roker Rangers family.

The results may not have gone our way this time, but football is about so much more than scorelines and the girls proved that all weekend long.

Playing a year up meant facing teams with girls nearly two years older than ours, yet every single girl stepped onto that pitch with courage and determination!

They never gave up, competed in every game, and played some absolutely brilliant football against very tough opposition.

The girls and their families represented Roker Rangers beautifully from start to finish.

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. The memories made will last a lifetime!

Roker Rangers U14s Future Legends Tournament Report!

With an early 8am start at Downhill Hub and just 11 players for a full 11 a side tournament, we knew today would be a real test… but what a day it turned out to be!

Ella, Lola, Lily M, Anna, Georgia, Sienna, Jasmyn, Connie, Lily, Matilda & Gracie were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The team went unbeaten throughout the entire tournament, conceding just one goal across all games, an incredible achievement.

Group Stage Results:
• Roker 0–0 Hetton – A tight opener that set the tone.
• Roker 2–0 Seaham – Two brilliant goals from Gracie secured the win.
• Roker 3–0 Killingworth – Gracie added two more, with Matilda scoring a fantastic goal.
• Roker 1–0 Washington – A stunning “worldie” from Sienna sealed victory.

Semi-Final: Roker v Killingworth (1–1, won on penalties)
A tough match as expected, with Killingworth taking the lead. But the response was immense. Georgia powered in a header from a Jasmyn cross to level the score. Straight to penalties! Ella stepped up with two incredible saves, while Lily, Matilda, Georgia and Jaz all converted their penalties with confidence. Through to the final!

Final: Roker v Hetton (0–0, won on penalties)
With no subs, fatigue began to show, but the determination and focus never dropped. Ella was outstanding in goal, pulling off some fantastic saves to keep the game level. Once again, it came down to penalties. This time Gracie joined the takers, and all five penalties were expertly converted. Another crucial save from Ella… and that was it…

Champions!! 🏆

Every single player gave 110% today. The teamwork, encouragement, and link up play were a joy to watch. Even as energy levels dipped, the girls kept pushing, heads held high, never giving up.

A massive thank you to all the parents & family members for your support and encouragement throughout the day. It was also fantastic to see Jess and Joanne there supporting, even though Jess was unable to play. Your energy, cheering, and positivity made a huge difference, you all kept the girls going when it mattered most!

Girl Of the Tournament- Sienna! Dominated every match with incredible consistency, showed real strength both on and off the ball, and her work rate never dropped for a second. Capped it all off with an absolute cracking goal that everyone will remember 🔥

An incredible performance from an incredible team, so proud of every one of them. Up the gers!! 🧡💙

Well done to Sienna from our U13s for recieving player of the week for Monkwearmouth Football Academy!

The Roker Rangers Girls took part in the Future Legends Tournament at Downhills Hub on a cold, wet day that tested both attitude and resilience.

The opening game saw the girls struggle to get going. They were just off the pace and narrowly lost 3–2. The second game followed a similar pattern, with the team finding it difficult to settle and get into their rhythm.

With several players having to play out of their usual positions, it took until the third game for everything to click. Once the girls found their shape and confidence, they ground out a hard-fought 1–0 win that proved to be the turning point of the tournament.

From that moment on, the girls were absolutely flying. A strong performance in the next game secured a place in the semi-final, where the team sensibly conserved energy and didn’t need to move out of second gear. A composed 1–0 win over Heaton booked our place in the final.

The final was against the team who had beaten us earlier in the tournament. This time it was a completely different story. The game was tight, competitive, and full of determination, ending in a 0–0 draw and going to penalties.

What followed was a nail-biting penalty shootout. Every single girl who stepped up showed incredible composure under pressure, scoring their penalties. The shootout ended 6–5, crowning Roker Rangers champions of the tournament.

Today was a true testament to the character of this team. Going into the tournament, nerves were high as we were missing key players due a few changes in the team and a couple of injuries. This meant Connie and Anna had to step into defensive positions they do not usually play, taking on unfamiliar roles for the benefit of the team and they were outstanding. They took on the challenge without hesitation and played with confidence and maturity well beyond their years.

A special mention goes to Connie, who was deservedly named Girl of the Tournament. She did the team a massive favour and was exceptional from start to finish. She chased every ball, worked tirelessly, somehow even more than usual and executed everything asked of her to perfection in a position that was completely new to her.

Goals throughout the tournament came from
Destiny ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Gracie ⚽️⚽️
Georgia ⚽️⚽️
Darcie ⚽️⚽️
Matilda ⚽️⚽️
Florence ⚽️
Jasmyn ⚽️
highlighting a fantastic team effort.

Every single player was incredible. I couldn’t be prouder of these girls. They held their own, dug deep when things got tough, and gave absolutely everything for the team.

A fantastic day and a thoroughly deserved tournament victory for the girls.

A big thank you to all the parents for your continued support from the sidelines. It really does make a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Our Boys were back this morning, first game in over a month after the christmas break and the bad weather.. An you could tell! We looked a bit rusty to say the least. after a slow start we took the lead from an absolutely brilliant finish from our No9 Archie. Unbelievable flicked finish over the keepers head even whilst been fouled. But after that we didnt really kick on. The opposition scored just before half time against the run of play. Then a very scrappy second half, both teams had chances but both keepers made good saves. Then with minutes left they scored from a corner after we fell asleep. An unfortunately it finshed 2-1. Hopefully the weather stays ok and we can get a run of games an put this one right because we were on a good run before christmas.

Our man of the match today was our GK Seb. He made some unbelievable saves and kept us in the game. Well done mate 👏🏽

As always many thanks to our sponsors K&J Catering for your continued support 👍🏽

A fond farewell to 2 of our OGs.

Eden and Emily have been part of our team since 6 years old and have taken the decision to step away from football with immediate effect.

Both a pleasure to coach and on their day, unstoppable.
