Kartmasters 2026 😆
What an experience, and one I’m incredibly proud to have been a part of.
Four days of racing on a brand new chassis and engine package, against some of Europe’s biggest teams and drivers.
We only committed to KartMasters 3 weeks before the event. I spent those weeks on a strict diet to get as close to the minimum weight as possible. We even removed the sticker kit and swapped parts for lightweight options, but despite our best efforts I was still 2.5kg over the minimum weight. Every kilo counts in karting, but we still managed to show genuine, front running pace with multiple fastest laps throughout the week.
The results didn’t reflect the pace we had, but we definitely turned a few heads and rustled a few feathers along the way. Being called the “Wild Card” and “one to watch” by was one of my highlights of the week. 😁
Race Report 🏁
Day 1
Engine issues meant we missed 3 of the 5 practice sessions, with another affected by rain, leaving us with just one solid session before qualifying.
Day 2
• Qualified P6
• Heat 1: P2 on track.
Bad luck struck! On the final lap I was hit from behind and on the in-lap, my rear bumper fell off. That resulted in a disqualification and the loss of all the points we’d worked so hard for.
• Heat 2: P2
Day 3
• Qualified P7
• Heat 1: P6 on track, but a drop bumper penalty dropped me to P13.
• Heat 2: P12 after struggling with the kart setup and changing wheels to cope with the grip.
Finals Day
Super Heat:
Starting P14, I fought through the pack. At one point I was completely airborne and sideways, but somehow managed to save it and finished P6 after a penalty ahead.
Grand Final:
Started P12 on accumulated points from the week.
I battled hard, climbing to P6, but a front caster bearing issue dropped me back to finish P12.
Without the bumper disqualification, things could have looked very different. But that’s racing, you take the highs with the lows.
Looking back, I’m incredibly proud. With only a couple of days testing in this kart, we proved we can run at the front against Europe’s best! That gives me a huge amount of confidence for what’s next.
A massive thank you to my family, team, sponsors and everyone who supported me throughout the week. Now we shift our focus back to British! Let’s Go!💪🏁
