Did you know that on Monday mornings, we run a very special session 0700 - 1000am here at Shack?

Our Monday Early Bird session is accompanied by bird song playing through our speakers.

For us humans, when we hear birds singing, it sends a signal to our brains and nervous system that there aren't any predators in our environment and that we are safe.

There are many other benefits to hearing birds singing whilst climbing:
• can help lower heart rate so you feel calm
• eases tension in the body and helps your muscles relax so you can flow better on the wall
• reduces feelings of anxiety so you feel more comfortable being at height
• helps clear mental fatigue so you can problem solve the routes you're working on
• increases concentration so you can focus and lock into your projects

We understand that it can be very overwhelming being exposed to a million BPM's, especially at 7 o'clock in the morning! So that is why we initiated this session; to create a safe welcoming space for everyone and for you to start your Monday morning Mindfully.
