WORLD CUP 2026

ENGLAND vs CROATIA
Wednesday 17th June - 9.00pm KO
Group Stage

It's that time again next week when England kick off their latest campaign to become World champions for a second time!

Join us at the clubhouse where we'll be open from early afternoon for all the build up to the big game including live coverage of the Portugal vs DR Congo match at 6.00pm

It's free entry and the bar will be open with some great offers throughout the World Cup along with hot food available to purchase from the second match onwards too

We also have a fun-filled day planned for the final group game with LIVE MUSIC booked in to get the party started and a live FIFA tournament during the day for the kids (and big kids!) to get involved with as well

But first up it's England vs Croatia on Wednesday where the Three Lions will be looking to get off to a flyer in what is the toughest group game on paper

THANK YOU AGAIN - ASDA FOUNDATION, COLIN ASTON & MATT BATESON!

It's another big thank you to Sally and the Asda Foundation who have awarded 2 of our most active volunteers tickets to The Festival of Sport that takes place on Saturday 25th July!

Colin, who many of you will already know, is the Club Secretary and Head of Youth Football and works tirelessly to keep the club running throughout the year

Matt is a former player in the adult sides (retired through injury) who gives up a lot of his time to help maintain the club grounds and work on projects around the club like the building of the dugouts a couple of years ago amongst many other things

We're really grateful to both Colin and Matt for the effort that they put in and so the award of tickets for their families to enjoy a day out are a fantastic gesture from Sally and the Asda Foundation team!

NEW APPOINTMENT

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Petrides to the role of Head of Girls Football at the club

Alex has been involved with getting the Girls section off the ground over the last season (along with help from several others too!) and will now oversee the teams across the age groups and take a seat on the Executive Committee of the club

It's another big season coming up for the Girls next year as the section is expanding again so exciting times ahead

SILHILL FC U18 MJPL RECRUITMENT

Silhill's U18 MJPL side are on the lookout for new recruits to join the squad for the upcoming 2026/27 season

With midweek training on 3G and matches played on a Saturday morning it's a great opportunity to join an England Accredited 2 Star Club and the fantastic player pathway through to the 1st Team competing in the Midland Football League
