Oliver is a passionate and ambitious young kart racer currently competing in both the Honda Cadet GX200 and IAME Waterswift Restricted Cadet classes in the UK. He began

karting in late 2024 and has thrown himself into every aspect of the sportā€”from race strategy and kart setup to data analysis and fitness. He races with full commitment at club and regional events, including testing at tracks across the UK. In the Honda class, Oliver is focused on building his foundationā€”mastering consistency, braking zones, and race awareness. A weekend with plenty of positives, frustration and lessons all rolled into one.

Practice showed really good pace with the grid incredibly tight, setting things up for some close racing all day.

Heat 1 (Wet)
First proper wet session and probably didnā€™t attack hard enough early on, which cost us. Once Oliver settled into the conditions the pace was strong and the lap times started coming, but the damage was already done. Started P6, finished P6.

Heat 2
Started P3 but dropped back to P6 off the line. A really strong recovery drive followed and Oliver fought back to P3 on the road. Unfortunately a 3 second start penalty dropped him back to P6 officially.

Heat 3
One to forget. After three false starts the engine oiled up badly and Oliver dropped to dead last with a huge gap to recover. Another start penalty on top made it a real uphill battle.

Final
Started P7 and drove a really solid race with strong pace throughout to bring it home P4. Only a few tenths away from the podium this time.

Normally weā€™d say onto the next one, but unfortunately the Waterswift grid at Whilton Mill has been cancelled this month, so thereā€™ll be a slightly longer wait before weā€™re back out racing.
