The U18s got their season underway in style with an outstanding 6-1 victory over a tough and physical Tunbridge side. Owen starred with a fantastic hat-trick, while Theo, Freddie and Charley completed the scoring. The result was backed up by some excellent team football and plenty of positive performances across the pitch.

U14s got their new season underway today with an away fixture against Link Football Coaching.

Unfortunately, with no pre-season fixtures, this was the first time the team had played together and, understandably, it showed at times as the game finished 2-1 to Link FC.

However, results don't always tell the full story. There were plenty of positives to take from the game, including some really good passages of play and lots to build on moving forward.

A big shout-out to our new goalkeeper, Cooper, who made an outstanding debut, along with all of our new players. It's never easy to lose, but with this season being in a new league and with several new faces in the squad, there is a fantastic opportunity to grow, develop, and rise to the challenge.

Keep your heads high, keep working hard, and the results will come. It's about the journey, not the destination, so enjoy the ride! ⚽💙

🔵 Men’s First Team 🔵

The men’s first team didn’t start the season as they had hoped yesterday, suffering a 5-1 defeat away to Northiam.

In terms of ability, there was very little between the sides. Seds went into half-time level at 1-1, with Spencer Sharkey converting from the penalty spot.

The second half, however, was a complete disaster. An early set-piece goal put Northiam ahead, and the following ten minutes showed just how quickly good opposition can punish lapses in concentration.

Within that spell, the score moved to 4-1 and there was no way back for Seds.

A tough lesson, but we move on, look ahead to the next challenge, and keep working as still lots of positives to take forward 💪 💙 ⚽️

Sedlescombe U13’s travelled to Tunbridge wells this morning for their opening game of the season in the Crowborough league.

The match got underway with some good football played by both sides T-wells tigers defending strongly from the start. Two early efforts fell to Seds with Arthur hitting the upright with a long range effort and Malachi hitting the crossbar.

Debutant Jorge came off the bench in the first half and immediately made an impact scoring an overhead kick from a corner. Before bagging his second with a header from a corner after some sustained pressure on Tigers goal.

Second half saw T-wells tigers get on the score sheet with some solid pressure in and around the Seds box bringing the score back to 2-1.

Jorge then completed his outstanding debut scoring from the spot after being brought down inside the penalty area after going clean through on goal.

The Match was wrapped up in the dying moments when club captain Rudi crossed for Shaya to bag his first goal of the season. Final score T-wells tigers 1-4 Sedlescombe Rangers.

Well done to all the boys today. Great start to the Season 💙⚽️

U9's Blues travelled to Claverham to take on SLJ CAVS and produced a fantastic team performance 👏

After a tight opening spell, the Blues found their rhythm, linking passes together brilliantly, making intelligent runs and taking control of the game. The boys showed great confidence on the ball and worked tirelessly for each other, dominating large periods of the match.

SLJ pulled one back with a fantastic strike, but the Blues responded in style on the counter attack, with Enes applying a neat finish to cap off a superb attacking display.

Every player played their part in a proper team victory, showing excellent teamwork, determination and quality throughout. 💙

U9's Whites kicked off their season with a fantastic performance against SLJ Timberwolves.

A special mention to Elliot on his debut, volunteering to go in goal for 20 minutes before moving outfield and providing an assist for Leo's goal! 👏

The team showed great energy, teamwork and determination throughout, playing some excellent passing football and mixing it up with some quality balls from defence. Henry was unlucky not to add more, hitting the crossbar twice.

A brilliant effort from every player and a very encouraging start to the season. Well done, Whites! 💙⚽️

The wait is nearly over... football is back 🙌 and the excitement is building! At Sedlescombe Rangers, we're looking forward to another season of unforgettable moments 💙

Our final pre-season friendly ended in a 3-1 defeat away at Catsfield last Wednesday evening ⚽️

There were still plenty of positives to take 🙌

The first half was evenly contested, with neither side creating many clear-cut chances

Catsfield eventually broke the deadlock after 30 minutes when their number 9 finished well after a clever through ball from the number 10.

A penalty early in the second half made it 2-0 before Catsfield added a third.

To our credit, the lads kept going. Adam Bond produced another brilliant finish from outside the box to pull one back, and Owen came within inches of scoring after striking the crossbar from 20 yards out.

Full-time: Catsfield 3-1

Pre-season is all about learning, improving, and identifying where we need to be better. We'll take those lessons into the new season and continue pushing forward together.

Special mention to U18's Riley, Billy, Owen, Ollie, Alfie, and Charley, who all stepped up and represented the club brilliantly.

⚽️❤️ We're excited to confirm that our Wildcats sessions will be returning in September 2026 ❤️⚽️

Our Wildcats sessions are for girls aged 5 to 11 years old and take place every Saturday morning from 9:00am to 10:00am.

During the winter months, sessions will be held indoors in a sports hall, ensuring that the weather never stops play! ⚽️

Sessions will restart in September 2026, with the exact date of the first session to be confirmed.

🔵 Men's First Team Pre-Season Update 🔵

The lads continued their pre-season preparations with a trip to Ringmer, who play in Division 2 of the Mid Sussex League.

It was a bit of a slow start, but once the boys got going there was no stopping them. They took control of the game and never really looked back, running out comfortable 6-1 winners against a decent Ringmer side.

⚽ Goals:
- Adam Bond x3
- Sean Lennard x1
- Spencer Sharkey x2

👏 A big shout out as well to our three U18s, Sheldon, Oliver and Riley, who all got minutes and looked right at home alongside the senior players.

Another good run out with plenty of positives to take into the new season.

A big thank you to everyone at Ringmer FC for their hospitality and for a great pre-season fixture. We wish them all the best for the season ahead.
