Powdermill Reservoir is located near Sedlescombe on the borders of East Sussex and Kent and was constructed to provide water to the Hastings area. On completion of Powdermill reservoir in 1932, Hastings Fly Fishers Club was formed by a small group of like minded local anglers who have leased the fishing rights ever since. The 56 acre reservoir is stocked with rainbow trout of exceptional quality w

hich have a reputation for being hard fighting and well proportioned fish. These rainbows are bred and reared by a hatchery in the West Country and although there are sources nearer to us, we believe that these are the best stocks available.

Hastings Flyfishers' Club is open for fly fishing at Powdermill Reservoir.
We have plenty of water and the lake is well stocked with some beautiful rainbow trout. The fishing is going well at the moment with plenty of 6 fish bag limits being caught. Powdermill is looking lovely at this time of year and we look forward to seeing you to enjoy some fishing - both members and visitors. Day tickets and full memberships available

Excellent weather and clear water conditions have combined to produce some spectacular fishing at Powdermill this year. The Mayfly hatch is well under way and we have had lots of happy anglers with bag limits.
Our carefully timed stocking schedule has meant conditions and fish are now perfect and have resulted in some outstanding fishing.
Day tickets and memberships are still available and we look forward to seeing you at Powdermill soon.

"Fantastic afternoon on the dries today. Caught on different sedge hog patterns and Wulffs. Single fly and a 19ft leader. All bagged up with the best going 6lb 3oz. I got broken by this fish last weekend and knew it was a a good one as I saw it roll over the fly. Fishing the same spot today I hooked it again and got my fly back from last weekend!! It took a barbless size 12 invicta half hog fished fairly close in. Just a perfect few hours casting at rising fish"

Early stocking throughout January and February is now providing excellent fishing at Powdermill with anglers catching their 6 fish limit. After the lovely sunny days last week we now have a cold wind but we have still had good results and some lovely fish of good weight are being caught. Our prices have remained the same as last year and we look forward to seeing you at Powdermill soon.
It is still excellent value to join the Club as a member so come and see us for a chat and enjoy unlimited fishing throughout the year.

We have had a stocking again at Powdermill this week and anglers have already had catches of some beautiful rainbows. The autumnal weather is looking more seasonal this week with a bit more sunshine and a drop in temperature so it’s a lovely time to come out and fish. We look forward to seeing you!

Good morning all. Now that we have had a bit of a cold spell we have stocked the lake again this week. We still have good water levels this year and the temperature is going down so we should start to see some results. Hopefully you will come and enjoy some good autumn fishing and we look forward to seeing you at the lake again soon.
