We’re always looking for new players to join us, whether you’re new to rugby, returning to the game or looking for a new club.

2026/27 Senior Rugby Leadership announcement!

Mitch Corney will lead the club as Club & 1st XV Captain, supported by our 1st XV leadership group.

For the returning Saxons, leadership will be shared across the group both on and off the pitch.

THE SEDGEFIELD BEER FESTIVAL IS BACK!

Our joint Beer Festival with Sedgefield Cricket Club returns from Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September and we’ve got a full weekend lined up.

The delayed start to the rugby season means our original Saturday plans have had a little reshuffle, but don’t worry we’re working on a few things to keep you entertained through the day…

🎶 Live music and entertainment every evening
🍔 Food available throughout the weekend, with some cracking vendors lined up
🍺 Indoor & outdoor bars with plenty of choice
📺 Live sport on the screens
🎟️ FREE ENTRY ALL WEEKEND

And even better — beer prices are staying the same as last year at £4 a pint / £2 a half!

We’ll be revealing the music line-up, food vendors and more over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the page.

Great day at Sedgefield Show yesterday!

It was brilliant getting the club out there, meeting plenty of people and spreading the word about Sedgefield District RUFC—and we’re always looking for new players! Whether you’ve played before or just fancy giving rugby a go, drop us a message.

Our Social Media Manager, Emma, even put together a rugby-ball throwing game… although she may have made one tiny mistake....
