🌽 A night to celebrate the people who make our club special 🌽
Our presentation evening was the perfect chance to recognise the dedication, hard work and passion shown by so many throughout the season. Whether on the pitch, on the sidelines or behind the scenes, every contribution helps drive this club forward. It was quite an emotional night as we say goodbye to Ste, Chris, Patto, Murphy & Kenco 💚💛

Runcorn Highfield ARLFC's first season in Division One has come to an end, so we caught up with our colleague and Highfield player Lewis Coffey to hear how it went. 🏉

**BONUS BALL RESULTS**

Ball number 21 was pulled out last night - which was one of mine.

Please remember to those who pay by standing order, cancel these payments. The club will have a brand new account in the next 7-10 days which will then allow us to launch a new version of the bonus ball which will be taken over by Simon Hicks please keep your eyes peeled for information on this!

Welcome to our new Head coach Ben Hopwood 💚💛🌽

Here’s a Q&A with Ben on his return to Runcorn Highfield…

1. What influenced your decision to return?
Stepping away when I did was the right decision at the time I felt I had mentally switched off abit and needed a break to reset but I always knew I was going to miss it and being around the lads on a Saturday when I came up to watch through the year confirmed that. After talking to Cal and Ste towards the end of the season I feel I’m in a good position to coach again and them showing faith in me to step up as Head Coach it was too good an opportunity to pass on.
2. ⁠ What are you most looking forward to?
I’m just looking forward to getting stuck in now. We’ve got a talented group of lads here capable of doing great things together.
3. ⁠ What’s your rugby background?
Started playing when I was 6 at West Bank until I was 18 had a couple of years playing uni rugby at Edge Hill and a year on and off at Widnes Tigers before becoming an assistant coach here in 2021.
4. ⁠ What are your goals for the team this season?
I want to be challenging at the top end of the table this year. Despite a challenging 2026 the lads showed that they are more than capable of competing in Division 1 with more consistent game time and numbers at training we could have a real crack this season.
5. ⁠ Who are your biggest influences in your coaching journey?
Steve McCormack gave me my first introduction to coaching back in College and I decided then it was something I wanted to explore.
6. ⁠ What’s one thing players can expect from your training session?
Lads can expect to have to work hard no session will be easy especially through pre-season but it’s all about building a squad that will challenge for trophies come the end of the year. Our most successful years have come when we’ve had good numbers at training throughout the year and that’s something I’m keen on getting back to.
7. ⁠ Lastly, what’s one message you’d like to share with our players & supporters ahead of the next season?
Thanks for having the faith in me to lead the club on the next phase of its journey. It really is a special club and everyone associated will play their part and together we can achieve great things.
