The U15 Amazons rounded off their season yesterday with a trip to Market Bosworth. With 3rd place already secured and the possibility of finishing as league runners-up depending on results elsewhere, there was nothing riding on the game for the girls.
With that in mind, the squad embraced the opportunity to try out some new positions, decided by the luck of the draw. The girls showed fantastic attitude and team spirit throughout. Despite falling behind early, they dug deep, stayed competitive, and made sure to enjoy some end-of-season fun along the way.
This week’s Player of the Match goes to Issi. After a strong couple of performances, she was once again outstanding, putting in a solid display in defence and using the ball brilliantly when playing out from the back. Congratulations, Issi! 💪
We’re incredibly proud of this group and everything they have achieved this season and made great progress from last year, with every player having played their part in a fantastic campaign.
Yesterday also marked the final game for Evie K. Over the last three years she has been immense between the sticks, having made the switch from striker to goalkeeper. Fittingly, she got a run-out in the front three for her final game and even managed to score a goal. ⚽
We also say goodbye to Bea, who first joined the Amazons at U9s before returning this season to complete her grassroots football journey where it all began.
We would like to wish both girls every success in the future and thank them for everything they have contributed to the team. 💚💛
Well done, girls!
