Well, how lucky have we been! We've managed to dodge the bad weather for our last two matches 🙏

First up was our Gentlemen's Cup match on Saturday 6th June. The weather turned out lovely, and everyone enjoyed a fantastic afternoon. Congratulations to Philip for finishing as runner-up, and a big well done to Simon, our deserving winner! 🏆

Then on Monday, we hosted East Markham for a home match. Once again, the sun shone, and we enjoyed a great afternoon filled with friendly competition, plenty of banter, and excellent company ❤️

We really do have a great time, and we're always happy to welcome new players. If you'd like to give bowls a try, meet new people, and enjoy some good company, why not get in touch or call in and see us? Don't sit at home on your own – come and join us! 🙌

Hi all, what an amazing few days we’ve had at the club! ☀️

Last week we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon with our old friends from Ordsall. It was a very friendly and enjoyable game with plenty of food, chatter, laughter and great company. Thankfully the weather held off just for us too! 😊

We also held our Singles Cup match on Saturday, and wow — what an afternoon of outstanding bowling. We are so proud of everyone involved, with some incredibly close and competitive games played in glorious surroundings.

A special thank you to Martin for kindly providing the raffle prizes in memory of his aunt - Irene Taylor, whom the Rose Bowl Trophy is named after. A lovely gesture and tribute. ❤️

And finally, congratulations to our valiant winner Johnny English 🏆 and our worthy runner-up John (Ernie) Morris. Well done lads — both should be very proud! 👏🎉

Hi all,

We had our first cup match yesterday — a doubles competition.

The weather was mostly kind to us, but nothing could dampen the spirits of our team! Everyone put in a great effort, followed by plenty of lovely chat and food afterwards.

A big well done to our runners-up, Simon W and Martin — great playing, lads.

And congratulations to our jubilant winners, Johnny and Carl! Fantastic performance from both of you.

Hi everyone 👋

If you’re reading this, you might be interested in giving bowling a try!

Here at Ranskill, we warmly welcome both newcomers and experienced bowlers. We offer three free taster sessions and pride ourselves on being a friendly, informal club.

Our crown green is well maintained, set within lovely gardens and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We’re also a flexible and sociable club, with a members WhatsApp group where games can easily be arranged at a time that suits you.

We’re keen to encourage younger players too (aged 12+). Bowling is a fun, tactical sport and a great way to stay active.

If you’re new to the area, it’s also a fantastic way to meet people and get to know the local community. We regularly organise friendly matches, both home and away.

And remember… even Superman loves bowling (cape optional!) 🦸‍♂️♥️

Another round of applause to our newest member, John (Ernie), for taking home the Handicap Trophy, with Dawn as a very worthy runner-up 👏👏

A massive thank you to all our friends who have supported the club, especially through Simon’s illness – your help has meant so much to us ❤️

We’re now looking forward to starting our indoor mat season – always plenty of fun (and a bit of healthy competition too!). Here’s to another great season ahead! 🎳✨

📣 You may have noticed our times have recently changed! We're aiming to be more flexible to accommodate those who work. Members are also welcome to come and practise at any time — just let us know beforehand.

For those thinking of joining, the membership fee is now just £10, plus £3 per visit for a game or two, as we’re later in the season. This also includes access to our indoor mat season, which is great fun!

Our pavilion is also available to hire for meetings, Pilates, yoga, and similar activities. Music is allowed (just not too loud!) and there’s a small kitchen area (no cooker), perfect for afternoon teas or small gatherings.
