Portsoy Coastal Rowing Club

Portsoy Coastal Rowing Club We row in St Ayles skiffs, fixed seat wooden boats with a crew of four rowers and a cox. We row around the coast near Portsoy and occasionally further afield.

Initially a group of women who built a skiff for the community of Portsoy, we were joined by the skiffers in October 2013 to form the Portsoy Coastal Rowing Club. We went into lockdown in March along with everyone else and have recently been permitted to resume rowing under the rules for outdoor contact sports. A Covid Risk Assessment and procedure is in place for the safety of rowers and the loca

l community. Under the current restrictions we are unable to offer our open rowing days but we would still like to welcome members new and old. If you are interested in joining us for a trial row, please message the page or send us an email and we'll be in touch. Thanks

We may not have been able to get out on the water for our Regatta today, but we had a great time sharing our love of rowing! Meeting people and talking about our skiffs and our club. We even met a couple of friendly rowers from South Western Australia! Check out Denmark Rowers 🚣

We are sorry to announce that tomorrow's Regatta is now cancelled, due to poor weather. We would like to thank all clubs who signed up to participate. We know you share in our disappointment. We look forward to seeing you all at future events.

A lot of hard work goes into the organisation of such an event, not to mention the training sessions all rowers will have been involved in. But with any rowing event, safety is always the priority.

We hope to have our pink skiff the Soy Quine on display in the harbour this weekend. Do come and have a look and say hello to our club members! Take the opportunity to find out about rowing.

Lastly, we hope you all have a fabulous time at the Boat Festival!

It's a Mini Regatta! 750m sprints to the harbour.

Categories to be confirmed: Mixed Novice, 220+ Mixed, Women 50+, Women 60+, Men 60+
