Porlock Reserves bowed out of the Seward Cup. They started brightly, carving out chances for Oliver Heathfield who unfortunately couldn’t find the back of the net. Karl Middleton-smith smashed home a 1–0 lead from a trademark Gav Paviour missile of a long throw, but then the injury curse arrived: six starters limped off, the back four was rebuilt on the fly, and Bridgwater Albion took full advantage to flip it to 2–1 by half‑time. Ollie Heathfield dragged Porlock back to 2–2, but the patched‑up defence couldn’t hold out as Albion finished 4–2 winners. A frustrating end after a strong pre‑season.Porlock Reserves go again next Saturday in their first league match. UTR.

The reserves get their season underway as they travel to Richard Huish college tonight for their first game in the league phase of the Seward cup.

Result 🔴⚪️

The ressies hosted fellow Division two side and Local rivals minehead colts to the rec this evening.

A strong reserves side ran out 4-0 winners in the game with goals coming from Joshua Baynham Karl Middleton-smith Jordan Simpson to round of a great performance and some valuable minutes in the league before next weeks season opener in the cup.

Also we’re proud to announce two new signing.

The first being a welcome back to Mark Ferris who has rejoined the club after a few years away from the pitch.

And also a welcome to fresh signing Luke Brown who has made a massive impact in between the sticks in pre season.

Porlock Reserves faced Dunster in what was always going to be a tough test for the Robins.
The Reserves put in a good showing of themselves, with two great goals coming from Karl Middleton-smith and Jordan Simpson. There were plenty of positives to take from the game, with the lads continuing to get valuable minutes in the legs ahead of the new season.
MOTM went to 16-year-old goalkeeper Luke Brown, who continued his impressive pre-season with another brilliant performance and some great saves to keep the Robins in the game.
Next up is Minehead Colts for the final pre-season friendly. 🔴⚪

A friendly yet competitive game seen the first team run out 5-1 winners. With the reserves going 1-0 up in the first half.

The first team pulled their socks up after the half way point and came out victorious against the ressies.

Some great patterns of play for both sides to give both teams some encouragement heading into the season
