🏉 TOMORROW! PITCH UP FOR RUGBY! 🏉

We’re kicking off the new season at Ponteland RFC tomorrow at 10AM - and everyone’s welcome! 🙌

Whether your youngster already plays rugby or they’ve never picked up a rugby ball before, Pitch Up for Rugby is the perfect way to get involved, have some fun and meet the team.

Expect plenty of rugby, games, skills and fun - plus burgers and hot dogs for the kids 🌭🍔

🏉 PITCH UP FOR RUGBY! 🏉

The new rugby season is here… and we’re kicking things off at Ponteland RFC this Sunday at 10AM - come and join in on pitches 2 & 3! 🟡

Pitch Up for Rugby is our start-of-season event for all young players - whether they’ve been playing rugby for years or have never picked up a rugby ball before.

👊 Already part of the Ponteland RFC family? Come along, get back on the pitch and get ready for the season ahead.

🌟 New to rugby? Come and have a go, meet the coaches and see what all the fuss is about. Everyone is welcome!

There’ll be plenty of rugby, fun and games - plus burgers and hot dogs for the kids 🌭🍔

!! IMPORTANT !!

The RFU is changing how club memberships are collected if you pay by Direct Debit - this affects senior and age-grade players and social members (Perks & Pints Members). Updates need to be completed by 31 August 2026.

Membership payments will now be collected by card payments, instead of Direct Debit. If you currently pay by Direct Debit through GMS, you will receive an email from FSI (First Sports - who develops GMS for the RFU) asking you to add a payment card. You may also see a banner when you log in to GMS.

These messages will prompt you to log in and enter your card payment details before 31st August 2026. To do this you can:

- Log in to GMS via https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/
- You may be presented with a banner at the top of the screen AND you should see an ‘UPDATE’ button on the top right of the screen.
- Click on the UPDATE button
- Add your payment card details and click ‘Save Details’
- Wait for the process to complete and do not refresh the browser. Once completed, you will be presented with a confirmation message.

Please remember, if you haven’t already, you also need to re-register for the 2026-27 Season - the link to do this will be presented on your GMS Dashboard when you log in.

Please don’t:

- Create a new GMS profile
- Cancel any existing payment details you have in the system
- Wait until the deadline date of 31 August to make the change

🏉 We know you're all itching for the start of the season, but there's a little longer to wait…

The RFU has confirmed a delay to the start of league fixtures for the 2026/27 season, with the move giving clubs a little more time before competitive rugby gets underway.

With the continued dry conditions and hard pitches across the region, it’s a sensible decision that puts player safety and pitch conditions first.

For the Mighty Maroons, that means a little more time to get the squad ready, build on a busy pre-season and make sure we're firing when the league campaign finally gets underway. 💪🍒

We’ll keep you posted with the updated fixture schedule as soon as we have it.

In the meantime… there’s still plenty of rugby to look forward to! 🏉

🏉 Back on the pitch!

A big well done to the lads after our first pre-season fixture against Morpeth last night.

The hard work the squad have put in over the last few weeks really showed, with some great moments, plenty of effort and a real commitment together. 💪

Pre-season is all about building, learning and getting those combinations working - and there was lots for the coaches and players to take away from the evening.

A huge thank you to Morpeth Rugby Football Club for hosting us and for a great game. We wish them all the very best for the season ahead. 🤝

Back to training, keep putting in the work, and keep building.

Our Ponteland RFC U16 Girls are going from strength to strength - and we’d love to welcome some new players into the team! ❤️💛

With weekly training, great skills development, excellent coaching and opportunities to collaborate and play alongside other local girls’ teams, there’s never been a better time to get involved in rugby.

Whether you’re completely new to the game or already love rugby, there’s a place for you at Ponteland. 🙌

And it’s not just our U16s! We’re also looking for new players across our girls’ age groups, including U12s and U14s.
