Luke Simmonds and Simon Coulson defeated Colin Mitchell and Jason Bowles 4-0 to lift the Legends Team Cup and claim the £550 top prize at the Broadway Club, Peterborough. Having lost to the finalists in their opening group match before easing through in second place on 8 points, they survived a major scare in their last four clash with former champion Kristian Willetts and city hopeful Graham Bradford, squeezing through on the final black in the deciding doubles before completing a memorable victory. A resurgent Mitchell, who was a professional in the 1990s and runner-up in the 2020 Legends League to Mark Gray, produced some fine play throughout the day, accompanied by partner Jason Bowles, but ultimately fell short in the showpiece match. The Legends Tour now takes its summer break, but returns for the Champions Trophy where the excitement and drama continues in September as 16 players battle for the £600 first prize.

The 4th edition of the Legends Team Cup gets underway on Sunday 26th April at the Broadway Club, Peterborough. A unique tournament that sees 16 legends randomly pair up to play across two groups, with 1 point per singles win and 2 points for a doubles victory. The winners and runners-up from both groups will advance to the semi-finals. Should the points be tied at 2-2 in the knock-out rounds, a best-of-3 blue ball shoot-out will determine the winners. It promises to be an exciting day's play with the eventual champions claiming the £550 first prize and trophy.
