What a fantastic day for the first Peebles Cycling Club Women’s Road Race, part of the Scotia Series sponsored by Santini!

A huge thank you to our incredible race organising team who have been so dedicated, supportive, and committed throughout this venture. Bringing this event to life for the club has been a real team effort, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all your hard work behind the scenes.

Thank you to all the amazing riders who came along and supported the event. Despite the less-than-promising weather forecast, we were treated to a dry day and some brilliant racing. The race was animated throughout, with strong attacks and an exciting group finish that showcased the strength and determination of the women’s field. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
A massive thank you also goes to our fabulous volunteers and marshals from Peebles Cycling Club and beyond, whose time and enthusiasm helped make the day run so smoothly. We are also incredibly grateful to the race commissaires and NEG motos, whose professionalism and support ensured a safe and well-run event for all riders. Thanks also to Tempus clothing attending with a show of kit clothing.

We were delighted to welcome MTB champion Isla Short, who got proceedings underway with a ceremonial start, adding a special touch to the day.

Thanks also to Zwift - Watch the Femmes for providing additional prizes, ensuring that every rider went home with a gift in recognition of their participation and support of women’s racing.

Most importantly, the atmosphere throughout the day was exactly what we hoped for, friendly, courteous, inclusive, and supportive. It was wonderful to see riders encouraging one another and helping make this such a positive experience for everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making our first women’s road race such a success. We’re incredibly proud of what we achieved together and look forward to building on this for years to come.

Full race results to be reported in due course as well as the race ranking for the Scotia Series.

A great write-up highlighting the passion, commitment and countless hours that go into organising events like the Mennoch Pass Stage Race. As part of the Women’s Scotia Series along with our PCC women’s road race, it promises to be a fantastic day of racing. Entries are still open but close this Sunday, 7 June — it would be great to see even more riders on the start line supporting the organisers and the event.

Entries are at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/331901/Torvelo-Womens-Road-Race
