Hey everyone. (Long and possibly boring post coming in but there’s some nice pictures!)

So unfortunately our Loch Ness swim is not to be this year. Very annoying and slightly stressful week knowing you are at the mercy of the wind and the water and not knowing if or when you swill swim.

The weather and the Loch is very unpredictable up here and it’s very difficult to accurately forecast and rely on it. There have been days when our boat support has had to delay/cancel due to the forecast but in the end it turns out to be perfect (see photos…these were mostly yesterday). Tomorrow and the weekend are looking great but there’s still someone due to swim it before us so our earliest slot is Saturday. But as a team, we can’t do it as it’s outwith our planned 7 day window.

The good news is we can carry our booking over into next year, so we still aim to do it. And watch out for any interim swims we’ll do just as a thank you everyone who donated.

And on that, so much thanks to those of you who donated to our Just Giving page. I’m sure you’re as disappointed as we are…especially as I’ve probably bored the pants off you talking and bragging about it for the past year.

And thanks to my fellow Ness Quick team mates, Owen Sheftz, Rebecca Gentek and especially Jen Langford and Ben Langford for keeping me company up here while Ruth turned up. And finally special mention to Tracy Sheftz and Lucy Colquhoun for their organising and project management. And finally, finally, to Loch Swim Alba for his support and guidance this last week.

And in the meantime here’s some stupid photos of me and my swim pal Jen larking about. And you’ll also see….Nessie does exist!!

Thanks again. S 🏊‍♂️🦕😭💨🌊

With the team arriving in the Highlands, the only thing left is to watch the weather and wait for the boat skipper to give the green light.

Currently, the only two options look like Tuesday night into Wednesday or Wednesday night into Thursday.

Swimming in the pitch black freesing waters of the Ness definitely qualifies as type 2 fun!

Congrats to Jen taking 1st place in the FV 35-39 Coniston Chill Swim. Just 10 seconds short of the overall podium 👏

Another great training swim for Loch Ness!
