🚨 Calling All Mini Medics (Ages 8–11)! 🚨

Looking for a fantastic, hands-on activity for the kids this summer? We are excited to announce that bookings are open for our upcoming Mini Medics first aid sessions at Open Space Studios CIC, Oswestry!

Designed specifically for children aged 8 to 11, this course gives them the confidence, knowledge, and life-saving skills to know exactly what to do in an emergency—all delivered in a fun, friendly, and practical environment.

What a weekend! 🔥🌲

Becca and I have had a brilliant, busy few days getting stuck into some fantastic outdoor adventures around Oswestry. Here is a quick look at what we got up to:

🎒 Morda Preschool's Little Big Show
We kicked off the weekend on Saturday lunchtime with the fantastic crowd at the Little Big Show. We had a great time helping everyone craft their own paracord bracelets, paracord people and, of course, keeping everyone happy with plenty of toasted s'mores! 🍫

🎂 Seb’s 10th Birthday Party
On Saturday evening, we celebrated Seb turning 10 with an epic survival-themed bash. The crew tackled shelter building and mastered fire lighting like pros. We even experienced some "localised rain"—which was actually just me with a watering can, testing out how waterproof their shelter really was! We wrapped up the night with campfire BBQ pittas and more s'mores.

🍕 Eddie’s 8th Birthday Party
On Sunday morning, it was time to celebrate Eddie's 8th birthday. The group smashed the shelter-building and fire-lighting challenges, cooking up some delicious campfire pizza pockets over the flames. They had absolutely loads of energy, so we rounded off the morning with two massive games of Predator! 🕵️‍♂️🌲

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us, to Morda Preschool for having us, and a huge Happy Birthday to Seb and Eddie! 🥳

🌲 Overnight Bushcraft & Campfire Cooking in Oswestry 🌲

What a lovely weekend in Trefonen! ☀️🌲

It was absolutely scorching on Sunday, and we really enjoyed being a part of the Trefonen Hill Walk Family Fun Day. It was fantastic to set up the Woodland Roots Bushcraft Zone, meet some great people, and spend the day chatting about all things bushcraft.

It was great to be a part of the wider Hillwalk Weekend. A final huge congratulations to everyone who took part across the events—including our very own Tom, who persevered and completed the gruelling 16-mile "Across The Cynllaith" walk on Saturday (even if his knees had other ideas by the end!). 🏔️💪

A brilliant weekend out in the woods for our Cook & Camp overnight! 🪵🔥

Chris and Caitlin joined us to learn some traditional camp skills and spend a night out under the tarps. They did a fantastic job working as a team from the word go—harvesting firewood, getting the campfire lit together, and whittling tent pegs to set up their shelter.

While a beef chilli simmered away in the Dutch Oven over the fire embers, they got their A-frame tarp completely pitched and ready for a chilly night.

Later on, we sat by the fire to weave some paracord bracelets, before whittling some marshmallow sticks just in time to toast some s'mores over the coals.

It was great to see them team up, pick up some practical skills, and just enjoy being out in nature. Huge thanks to both of them for being such great campmates!
