Liverpool Tritons was formed in 2016 as Merseyside's first Inclusive Men's Rugby Union Team. Since then we have played across the UK and at international tournaments. The club has grown since then with the launch of our All Gender Touch Rugby Team. We are a member of Lancashire RFU and a full member of IGR (International Gay Rugby). The Men's Union team provides a safe and welcoming space for gay,
bisexual, straight and trans men and our Touch Rugby team welcomes players of all genders to a social sport without the full-contact of rugby union. The club welcomes those who are experienced or new to the sport and at all fitness levels. New players are taught the basics and encouraged to learn by joining in, with a patient team helping them through their first few training sessions and games. In the first two months of the Club, 16 players played their first ever games of rugby. Now, our Men's Union Team plays in the IGR UK League North Division against other inclusive teams, and in friendly games against mainstream local clubs. Our Touch Team plays in the IGR Touch League and the Liverpool City Region Touch League. We currently have over 40 active players across both teams and we welcome new players throughout the season. Our page is updated regularly with any upcoming events, and this is also the best way of contacting the club (via Messenger). Training is every Wednesday from 7 to 9pm at the Leisure United Jericho Lane Sports Complex, Otterspool Drive, Liverpool L17 5AR, (Note that from May to August training is at Merseyside Police Sports & Social Club, RIversdale Road, Liverpool, L19 3QN). Please contact us if you plan on attending so we can make sure you have a great time.
