Richard Phillips Racing Jumping and flat racehorse trainer in the beautiful village of Adlestrop in the Cotswolds. Richard is a Trustee of Heros Charity.

Richard Phillips Racing is a professional racehorse training yard based in the beautiful village of Adlestrop in the Cotswolds. With around 30 horses in training, mainly jumpers but also some flat horses, Adlestrop Stables has wonderful facilities and provides a bespoke experience for horses and owners. Racehorse welfare is at the heart of what we do and our horses are looked after to the highest

level with each horse’s individual training requirements met. Based near Wantage, Heros rehabilitates racehorses to riding horses and ensure they find excellent homes once their racing careers are over. Team Adlestrop pride ourselves on our unique, friendly and fun atmosphere at Adlestrop Stables and were winners of the 'Lycetts Team Champion' Award in 2021.

Fighting Poet went on a trip to the middle of Birmingham on Monday to a Pitch2Progress community activation organised by the Pony Club.

Pitch 2 Progress is a fantastic charity that connects communities with sport and other activities. It was great to engage with many young people from the local area who were exposed to the world of horseracing for the first time.

Thanks to Great British Racing and the National Racehorse Week team, there was plenty to interest all who attended including horse simulators, the world of farriery, all the good work of the The Pony Club UK Official plus both Fighting Poet and Lou Robson bringing along an ex-Godolphin horse.

Many had never touched a horse before and as ever, Poet very much enjoyed a carrot feast. Hopefully this venture will encourage people to engage with the sport more in the future.

Being a racehorse was not Oscar's (official name Father Martin) forte, however jumping huge obstacles around the English countryside with Nessie Chanter certainly is!

Aged 19 now, he was rehomed to Nessie around 15 years ago and he is a much loved horse who has a home for life in nearby Chastleton 😍

Lilly the filly was in training at Adlestrop but didn't race and was rehomed to one of our owners Jo Paynter to do polocrosse.

She has recently had a beautiful (and clearly playful) foal by a quarter horse stallion. Hopefully her offspring can go on to compete at polocrosse too!

Former Adlestrop trained Totterdown is enjoying a fantastic retirement with Melissa Chesterman and her family.

Melissa foaled Totterdown 15 years ago and has been a big part of his life and it's wonderful she has him now his racing days are over. He is a much loved member of their family who brings them a lot of joy.

Totterdown won six races during his career in charismatic, front-running style and was a pleasure to have at Adlestrop 💚
