Congratulations to Sarah Thornton for 3rd and 6th place in each Prelim class.

What’s your friendship story?

Half a Century of Friendship💙

Sue Moger (Malvern Hills Riding Club) and Dinah Smith (Battle & District Riding Club) have been friends for nearly 50 years, first meeting while living in Germany as the wives of Cavalry Officers. Together they travelled across BAOR, competing at Army Hunter Trials and Show Jumping events.

Now living many miles apart, opportunities to meet up (especially with their horses) are few and far between.

It was therefore a special moment when both qualified for the BRC Howden Horse Trials Championships at Swalcliffe in August with their horses Ballygill Bobby & Culmore JJ, meaning they could take a quick break from competing to reunite.

Their story is a lovely example of how Riding Club friendships can stand the test of time, with horses continuing to bring people together years later💙
